I'm glad to see that Innokin kept to the original body design, as the Coolfire fits so well in the hand. With its seemlessly curved body, the wraps around the device. It has a nice gloss finish to the paint work, that seems very wearing, with no chips or scratches so far.
The gold plated sprung load 510 connection, with stainless steel threading, is set in the contrasting matt black top section, which seemlessly wraps around the front, through to the base,
I found the 510 connection to be very springy, you really have to push the atty in, before you can start threading it down, and once threaded, I found the threading quite short, only allowing for about 2/3 turns of the atty, compared with about 6 turns on most of my other devices, leaving some atty's with a slight gap underneath.
The Fire Button is located just below the curve of the top of the device heading into the side. A relief of the Innokin logo is imprinted on the fire button so you’ll know the button placement even in the dark. Which has a really satisfying click.
Following on the Innokin tradition, the fire button is backlit, giving you an addition indication of the battery,

The Coolfire IV TC100 has a surprisingly large screen, for the compact size of the device, measuring 25mm x 11mm, with a bright well defined display,
The display clearly gives all the device information that you may require.

Below the screen, you have the vertically stacked control buttons, that allow you to adjust the power settings, increment is 0.5w rather than the standard 0 .1w, that you may be used to seeing, and used to select the coil type.
The buttons are located just above the side mounted Micro USB . Which allows you to charge the device, as well as pass-through feature. So you can Vape while you charge.
Functions & Controls
The Innokin CoolFire IV 100W TC is a 3-click off/on device. With very clever Coil Calibration feature, In most other TC mods the user must press and hold certain buttons to get into the menu system to go from TC to VW or VW to TC. With the IV TC100 every time you remove the tank and screw it back on you’re shown a screen that allows you to choose “Same” if all you’ve done is refill it. You are also given the opportunity to change the mode, specifically the type of wire coil, and immediately change the mode of the device with your choice.
You can also get to the Coil Selection screen by shutting the device down (3x clicks) and then clicking one more time to see the selection screen. This method is easier and faster then press and hold to get into the menu.
Changing Wattage – Temp – If you find the need to raise or lower the wattage or temperature, click and hold the Plus or Minus adjustment button until the display begins to blink. Once blinking, press the Plus or Minus button to adjust up or down. Once you get to where you want to be, click the fire button once to set it in stone. This form of selection prevents you accidentally changing your wattage.
One of the major advantages that the new Aethon chipset brings to the Coolfire IV TC100 is the use of ClearWave noise cancellation technology, which I must admit, I had no idea what it did, so had to do a bit of reviewer research . Turns out ClearWave technology has to do with the extreme accuracy of the resistance in coils, accurate to 5 decimal points. Apparently some chipsets can send out signal noise and ClearWave Technology in the Aethon Chipset cleverly suppresses it. That’s never been a real issue for me, and I think I would struggle to notice the difference, but for vapers that take the electronics side of this technology very seriously, it matters.

The tank will break down into its five components parts for cleaning and maintenance,
The colour coded base section has the intergrated adjustable air built into it, and a hole through the middle for the Coils 510 connection to come through.
The base section threads directly onto the base of the tank and coil.
The base is intergrated into into the chimney and Juice flow control, which is sprung loaded to close off, as soon as you remove the top cap.
The 3.ml glass tank supplied, fits snugly down over the base/chimney, held in place by the tightly fitting o-ring at the base.
The colour coded top cap, has internal threading, that screws down directly onto the chimney section.
It also features a widebore Delrin drip Tip, that fits snugly in place
The included coil, is 0.5ohm SS coil, which are colour coded, to allow you to allow you to choose the correct coil.
The BVC Coils, have an intergrated spit back guard, built into the top of the coil.
To allow easy - Mess free coil changes the coil, simply press fits into the base, meaning that you don't have to come in contact juiced end of the coil.
Simply line up the slots and push in, and then you can screw the base on.
Filling.
Filling up the Sub V couldn't be easier, unscrew the top cap, and you can then bump your favourite, juice into the tank, with no chance of the juice flooding the coil, due the the spring loaded juice control.
Fill up the fill line, the you can then simple screw down the top cap. Applying slight pressure the open up the juice flow control.
Tight Skin.
The Coolfire also includes one of the tightest fitting silicon Skin, that I have come across, and needs to be stretched over the bottom of the mod, a slid up the mod.
Performance and everyday vaping.
I have been using the Coolfire IV TC100 and Sub V tank on and off for the last few week, and the Coolfire defiantly feels like an old friend, Innokin seem to bring out as many mods as some of its competitors, but when it does they always feel very well thought out and designed, exceptionally well manufactured and machined.
The long lasting internal 3300mAh lipo battery makes it the perfect all-day mod, I found that you can get through the whole day without an issue when vaping at moderate wattage.
The coil selection system makes it ultra easy to choose your Coils, with out having to go into submenus, the screen is bright and easy to read.
The virtually instant power, with unnoticeable belay, from Button press is outstanding, and makes using the Coolfire IV TC100 a real pleasure. And with 100w of power, there's plenty of scope for even the most advanced Vaper.
I found the 510 connection a little to sprung loaded, as it virtually ejects your atty when you unscrew it. And being picky, I would have liked it to have been a bit wider so it could accommodate some of my 24mm Atty's.
The Sub V tank performs really well, although I didn't really find it suited my vaping style, I found it to be a bit sizzley some times. Producing a bit of a dry vape when used with the preinstalled TC Coils.
Also - I'm not sure if I hadn't quite tightened the base up section up, but I seemed to have a few issues with leakage, when the device was stood for a few days. So please check, that you have the coil pressed in hard, and the base screwed on tight.
