All,
I am currently looking at the design of a subsea water injector well here in the North Sea. The well itself will be sub hydrostatic in an overbalance state at all times with a column of seawater.
We are looking into the feasibility of replacing the SSSV with a deepset water injection valve run on a nipple. One of the advantages being that we can potentially reduce the water hammer effect for any unavoidable hard shut-ins of the well with the reflection point set deeper in the well.
I’d be grateful for the forums experience in running injection valves set below the production packer, benefits, history and any track record you can share.
Thanks in advance.
