A weekend-long, star-studded, gourmet gathering celebrating healthy cooking

Miami, FL (April 2015) – Common Threads, the national non-profit organization fighting childhood obesity by teaching healthy cooking skills, has gathered some of the country’s top culinary superstars for the debut of Cooking For Life Festival, April 17 – 19, 2015 in Miami.

Hosted by celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein and Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho, the three-day festival will provide unique opportunities to celebrate healthy cooking. Attendees can expect a line-up of chef megastars supporting the organization’s mission.



A ‘Tasting’ of the Weekend Includes:

Kick-off Dinner at Mignonette: Make a reservation Friday, April 17 at Mignonette and support Common Threads while indulging in an evening of fabulous seafood fare. 10 % of the evening’s proceed will benefit Common Threads.

Culinary Boot Camp: An intimate and interactive experience giving foodies the opportunity to rub elbows with some of Miami’s most renowned chefs. On Saturday, April 18, a limited number of participants can enjoy a full day of hands-on cooking classes at FIU’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. Tickets cost $45 – $250.

Morimoto Dinner: A remarkable tasting event hosted by Chef Masaharu Morimoto at the beautiful Shelborne Wyndham Grand South Beach on Saturday, April 18. Mingle with Miami’s finest and enjoy Chef Morimoto favorites and specialties from some of Miami’s most popular chefs. Tickets start at $75 and VIP tickets are $125.

Sunrise Beach Yoga: Escape for a serene and beautiful morning Sunday, April 19, 8AM on the private beach at the Thompson Miami Beach for an hour-long yoga experience. All participants walk away with hand-selected goodies. A $20 donation is suggested.

5-Star Fundraising Brunch: A hand-picked group of chefs will join Common Threads at Chef Michelle Bernstein’s newest restaurant, Seagrape at the Thompson Miami Beach. Guests can enjoy a special afternoon featuring amazing food and exciting auction. An exclusive VIP event offers select guests the chance to personally meet the A-List chefs. General admission tickets are $150 and VIP costs $250.
