1. Update Regarding Parking Circumstance

Willowtree visitor parking will not be available for Jumuah Prayer on Friday, May 8th.

As we mentioned in previous email, their reasons are:

Safety concerns due to overspeeding of Muslims in Willowtree Apartments

Parking in resident spaces

Willowtree Apartments will be having a security company who will check for a Willowtree Parking pass to allow cars to enter their compound.

Our recommendations:

Car pool as much as you can.

Our security company might direct people to double park.

If you have a blue or gold University of Michigan parking permit, park your car at the North Campus Research Center at 2800 Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor, MI

The masjid is a 10-15 minute walk from there.

You may park at the Traver Village Shopping Center (Kroger). In this case, please visit one of the shops and make a purchase.

The masjid is a 10-15 minute walk from there.

Parking at the Key Bank complex is not authorized and your car may be towed.

What have we been doing?

The EC has been working on the following options – but we haven’t been able to secure anything for this week.

Negotiation with WillowTree for using their parking lot is still ongoing.

We have reached out to the City of Ann Arbor for permission to park along Traverwood drive

Use parking available in Clague School and neighboring church – investigating feasability.

We are sending out this weekly email in advance to help you plan your commute to the masjid insha Allah.
