BBQ places in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach may be best known for seafood, but it also happens to be located in the South’s barbecue belt. That’s why you can find plenty of places offering traditional Southern BBQ alongside the seafood buffets. Here are five can’t-miss hot spots offering some of the best BBQ on the Grand Strand:

Prosser’s BBQ: This Murrells Inlet family restaurant is as famous for its country cooking as it is for its BBQ, which hails from the nearby BBQ hub of Hemingway and features s slow smoked over hickory coals.

Hog Heaven BBQ: Hidden in Pawleys Island, this smokehouse features mustard-based sauce mixed with pulled pork that gets the thumbs-up from South Carolina-style fans.

Little Pigs: Serving authentic North Carolina barbecue (chopped pork shoulder in a vinegar-based sauce), this Myrtle Beach establishment does it the old-fashioned way, right down to the BBQ slaw and hot hushpuppies.

Rioz: This Brazilian steakhouse isn’t what most Americans would consider a traditional BBQ restaurant, but the same theme of grilled meats over open flame, Rioz hits the spot. Servers make their rounds with large skewers of beef, pork, chicken, seafood, lamb and more.

Big D’s BBQ: This country-cooking cafeteria features mouth-watering pork along with all the fixings. Patrons can choose from pulled pork and BBQ ribs, as well as fried chicken, pork chop and veggies.
