Aloha! Yey for the weekend! And it just means more free time to do my makeup blogging hobby.

But before I go into that, let me just dwell on some realizations I had for the past few weeks.  You guys know how I've been missing in action in the blogging world for several months since last year. In fact, for last year, it is only now when I found out that I only had a total of 26 posts. It makes me sad and at the same time, regretful.  Why? Well, I've been so busy with work and on weekends, I had some housing chores to attend to. In short, every week was a struggle to earn money and live well. I even began thinking about totally discontinuing this blog because I really don't have the time to update anymore.

However, what I failed to realize now that I'm back to blogging is that, this is actually my way to relax and de-stress.  Last week when I began posting beauty blogging photos on my Instagram, it made me really happy and relieved from all the negative vibes at work. It made me feel so good inside that when I decided to do a quick blog post, it was only then that I knew I should keep this going. So yeah, I am keeping this blog for as long as it keeps me happy and it will remain as my hobby. It's such a relieve to be writing about something lighter, something fun, and something I love.

So..enough of the drama and let's move on with today's review - the CC cream from Avon.

Some basics:

FACTS:

Place bought: from our won Avon lady in the office - Ate Noemi

Price: Php359.00

Packaging: in a small black tube

Shade: Nude - with warm undertones. Avon's CC Cream comes in two shades, but this one suits my skintone best.

My Concurrences:

First, what is a CC Cream?  It simply means "color corrector" cream, period.  It's just another version of our good ol' BB creams, but this dwells more on its ability to correct the skin's complexion.  It concentrates more on lightening dark spots to make the skin achieve an even complexion.  Armed with SPF, it makes as a good alternative for BB creams.

There are only a few CC creams in the market today, but more and more makeup brands are also diving into the craze.  I was able to try a sample of one from Etude House. Base on that, I knew it was another great invention in the makeup world.  When I found out that Avon had their own version, I wanted to try since it was only Php359.00.  And with SPF50, what's there to lose?

So, I've been wearing it for three weeks now and so far, the results are great.  Worn the same way as I wear BB creams to avoid the oiliness, I find that this cream lasts longer on the skin than my usual BB creams.  Topped off with a powder foundation, it can last the whole day in an airconditioned room with only one re-touch. In the middle of the day, my nose and forehead becomes a bit shiny, but it's nothing that a powder foundation can't fix.

Since it has a high SPF, I don't need to prime it with a sunblock anymore.  Which meant, I can be out the door in a jiffy.  The texture is also light and a bit runny, so it dries faster on the skin.

My Dissent:

Similar to thicker BB cream, albeit it's lighter in texture, I can have white heads on my nose if I apply two layers.  Hence, I just make sure to apply one layer to prevent the appearance of white heads.  Other than that, it's still a good product.

Overall:

It makes as a great alternative to my sunblocks and BB creams. And for an affordable price, you can't go wrong with this one.  It claims to lighten dark spots in a few weeks, but I have yet to find  out if that's true. But as far as its wear time, texture and performance are concerned, I'm liking it so far.

And to end this review, I'll just let my face do the talking.

Happy weekend!
