James Reid: The self-titled album

Pop R&B is definitely on the rise again with new original songs to flourish from such a young talent as James Reid who emerge to establish his name in the music industry. It is an impressive 6-track album with a minus one.

At the age of 20, Fil-Australian James Reid has written 2 original songs for this debut album: “You Make My Body Move” (arranged by singer-songwriter Thyro Alfaro) and “Game Changer” (arranged by Lester “Klumcee” & Eman D’ Great).  Both songs showcases his dance, pop and R&B roots. He’s been very proud about his compositions and said “Being physically sold, not so much. I’m just glad that it’s out. I just wanted to be heard.”

Debut single is entitled “Alam Niya Ba” also composed by Thyro Alfaro. “Gone” is another song in the album and a pair of covers. One is Dobie Gray’s “Loving Arms” and Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You.” Whether it’s his own song, or if he’s interpreting somebody else’s, James Reid proves that he can handle both and let his own style shine through.

Not many may know it, but James is an avid listener of R&B and a big music fan in general. He counts the R&B artist Mario and Chris Brown as early influences. He also has a spot for pop-rock and alt-pop as evidenced by his inclination to mix in Maroon 5 and The Script songs into his repertoire during live performances.

James Reid sings in the “Ang Diary Ng Panget OST”

Pop heartthrob James Reid is counting on a handful of great sounding originals to get his music across. One of those songs is “Natataranta,”penned by Thro Alfaro, included in Original Sound Track of the film “Ang Diary Ng Panget.” He played the role of Cross Sandford in the movie, Nadine Lustre (Eya Rodriguez) love interest.

"Natataranta"was produced by  Bojam of Flipmusic Productions Co. Checkout the music video soon directed by Miggy Tanchanco. For now, here’s the behind-the-scenes video below by vivamusicgroup1.
