Jason Farol: The Self-Titled Album

Filipino-American Jason Farol is from Torrance, California, a true-blue Pinoy-at-heart is reconnecting with his roots in the Philippines with the release his self-titled debut album. Manila’s first introduction to Jason Farol would be through two of his songs from his album, the power ballad “I Believe In Love Again,” and the OPM song “Kung Ikaw At Ako.”

Our ‘catchiest’ part of the song is when Jason belts out the chorus “I’ll give you all of me and more, And though you’ve heard it all before, I fall into your eyes and then, I believe in love again…” Sounds like Jason is ready to love again after a difficult breakup, there’s no denying the expressiveness of Jason Farol’s vocals. Describing the song further, a record executive was quoted to have said that “this song is reminiscent of those ballads popularized by the likes of Toto, Journey and Bad English, and it has real power and emotion behind its singing.” True enough, It is one of the strongest tracks in Jason Farol’s album and carries all the inspiring elements he demonstrated in “Duets.”

Meanwhile, the OPM track “Kung Ikaw At Ako,” has its own endearing qualities. Despite growing up and living all his life in the US, Jason Farol still takes the time to know the Tagalog language. He’s certainly taken great efforts to sing this song as naturally as possible. The result is a heartfelt rendering of brand new OPM song that can stand on its own merits.
