Who gets excited about decorating trees during the holidays! Enjoy many tree lighting celebrations throughout the City of Brotherly Love this 2015 holiday season!

There will be much more than just beautiful trees being lit. Many of these community celebrations will have live music, hot coco, holiday giveaways, Christmas carols will be sung, dance performers and much more.

Wednesday, November 23 ~ Philadelphia Museum of Art ~ Starts at 4 pm – 6:30 pm

The Holiday Tree Lighting celebration at the Philadelphia Museum of Art will allow guests to participate in watching the museum turn the lights on the tree while visiting inside the museum afterwards to enjoy a cup of hot cocoa, caroling in the galleries, participate in an ugly sweater party and much more. ~ Holiday Tree Lighting at Philadelphia Museum of Art ~

Saturday, November 26 ~ Philly Holiday Tree Lighting at City Hall ~ Starts at 4:00 pm (Tree Lighting 5:30 pm)

Since Dilworth Park has been completed, City Hall’s tree lighting celebration moves to its courtyard for 2015. The tree is a 35-foot-tall Norway spruce which was brought over from Linvilla Orchards and is on display now. Light entertainment will begin at 6 pm on December 3 with the official ceremony to begin at 7 pm and the tree lighting to commence at 8 pm. ~ Click Here for Details ~

Saturday, November 26 ~ Main Street Manayunk ~ Starts at 5:00 pm

Manayunk will be ringing in the holiday season with photos with Santa Claus from 11 am to 2 pm, holiday carols, and a Christmas tree lighting. The tree lighting ceremony will take place at 5 pm at 4232 Main Street (the old Cadence building). Miracle on 13th Street ~ Starts at 5:00 pm

Sunday, November 27 ~ Plough and the Stars ~ Starts approximately around 1:00 pm

Stop on over at the Plough and the Stars in the Old City District of Philadelphia as they decorate their large treee. Enjoy Irish music, Christmas tunes, their fire place, delicious food specials and beer.

Tuesday, November 29 ~ Rittenhouse Square ~ Starts at 5:00 pm

Rittenhouse Square will embrace its holiday season by turning on a beautiful tree standing more than 30 feet tall with 5,000 twinkling lights. Santa himself will be on hand to light the tree up for the 2014 season. Enjoy toasty hot chocolate, Christmas carols, candy canes, and a surprise giveaway from TD Bank during this festive event. Tree Lighting at Rittenhouse Square

Tuesday, November 29 ~ Mt. Airy Tree Lighting ~ Starts at 5:00 pm

Mt. Airy rings in the Holiday Season with events all weekend, kicked off by a tree lighting on the Lutheran Theological Seminary campus at 5:30 pm with music from the Salvation Army Brass Band, followed by caroling. There will be a store-wide sale on all holiday trimmings. The event is held at the William Allen Plaza on the LTSP Campus at 7301 Germantown Avenue in Mt. Airy. ~ More Info ~

Thursday, December 1 ~ The Shops at Liberty Place ~ Starts at 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

The Shops at Liberty Place will put up a towering tree in its Rotunda. From 6 pm to 8 pm, enjoy performances from the Philadelphia Dance Academy and The Liberty Strings Orchestra. There will be face painting, crafts, hot cocoa, complimentary appetizers, beverages and photos with Santa Clause (bring your own camera for photos). ~ Click here for Details ~

Thursday, December 1 ~ The Singing Fountain on East Passyunk Ave ~ Starts at 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Come celebrate the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree at the Singing Fountain on Tasker Street & East Passyunk Avenue with carolers from Alphabet Academy, music by students from Andrew Jackson School, a visit from Santa Claus, and free food/drink samples from Avenue restaurants. At 7 pm kick off the “Deck the Halls” holiday promotion and stroll down the Avenue for extended shopping hours, dinner and drink specials, and more. Friday, December 2 ~ Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest Tree Lighting ~ Starts at 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Head on over to the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest on the Delaware River Waterfront and be dazzled by the tree lighting of a 43-foot-tall tree. From 6 pm to 9 pm, enjoy performances from In the Mix A Capella Group, the Philadelphia Youth Ballet, the Philadelphia Symmetry Synchronized Skating, Olde Towne Carolers, Santa Clause, Santa’s Elves and many more.

Saturday, December 3 ~ Phillies – Citizens Bank Park Tree Lighting ~ Starts at 10:00 am

Lots of fun at Citizen’s Bank Park with raffle prizes every hour, sales on merchandise, meet and greets, photos with Phanta Claus from 11 am to 1 pm & of course, photos with live reindeer from 1 pm to 3 pm and the tree lighting which will take place at 5 pm. ~ Tree Lighting at Citizens Bank Park ~

Sunday, December 4 ~ South Street Headhouse District Winter Extravaganza ~ Starts at 3:00 pm

Come enjoy this winter extravaganza with the family. The event will take place from 4 pm to 7 pm, with dance performances by the Society Hill Dance Academy and the Philadelphia Dance Academy, free horse-drawn carriage rides and much more. Santa visits at 5 pm and the tree lighting will begin at 6:30 pm. Don’t forget to visit the shops and restaurants afterwards. ~ Click here for more Details ~

Saturday, December 10 ~ Parade of Lights ~ Starts at 5:30 pm

Head on over to the Delaware River waterfront for the Parade of Lights. Guest will enjoy both pleasure boats and working vessels decked out in fabulous decorations and lights. Before the parade, head to the Independence Seaport Museum, which is hosting the parade for lots of holiday activities and festivities. The light parade will begin at 5:30 pm.
