‘Celebrating American Independence’

What not a better way than to celebrate your 4th of July Weekend right here in Philadelphia, where it all began! Enjoying Independence Day with friends, family and everyone else!

There will be free concerts, the American Revolutionary War re-encampment, the main parade in the historic section of Philadelphia tomorrow, block parties, the spectacular fireworks show above the Philadelphia Museum of Art and much more.

This weekend kicks off with WAWA Welcome America activities and events, FREE Philly Pops concert, First Friday, and the continuation of the Lego Art exhibit at the Franklin Institute and Beneath the Surface exhibit at Penn Museum. Also enjoy the Spruce Street Harbor Park, 4th of July fireworks, FREE concert on the Parkway, magic shows, farmers’ markets, and much more. The weekend ends with . Check out the long list of things to do during the week as well.

For some family fun, head on over to Independence National Historical Park and allow your kids to join the Continental Army for marching drills and musket etiquette. How about raise the flag with Betsy Ross or listen to historians as they tell the story of every day Philadelphians during this moving version of the Declaration of Independence.
