Margie Rodino

Rodino promoted to chief talent officer

Sloan Valve Co., based in Franklin Park, Ill., has promoted Margie Rodino to chief talent officer.

As chief talent officer, she will focus on the continuous effort to shape the culture and future of the company.

Rodino previously worked as vice president of global human resources for the company. She is a certified compensation professional and has a bachelor’s degree in personal and industrial relations from NIU.

Jurik named Suburban Trib editor

Veteran Chicago Tribune editor Phil Jurik has been named to the position of suburban Trib editor.

In his new role, Jurik will oversee a growing network of suburban publications under the Tribune banner, including 50 websites, 32 stand-alone weekly newspapers, 16 weekly TribLocal sections and five dailies. The portfolio was bolstered by the Chicago Tribune’s $23.5 million acquisition of 38 suburban newspapers from the Chicago Sun-Times in October.

Part of the Chicago Tribune newsroom for 12 years, Jurik started as bureau chief in south suburban Tinley Park, Ill. In 2008, he was promoted to deputy metro editor, overseeing the Tribune’s suburban bureaus. Previously, Jurik was a reporter and then sports editor for the Daily Southtown, one of the suburban dailies acquired from the Sun-Times.

Jurik has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in public affairs reporting from Sangamon State University. He lives in the south suburbs.



Christopher J. Robinson

Robinson hired as field sales manager

Freeport Home Medical Equipment has hired Christopher J. Robinson as a field sales manager.

For 24 years, Robinson worked as an insurance auditor and spent time as a leasing and sales consultant.

An alumnus of Lena-Winslow High School, he earned an associate degree at Highland Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University, where he majored in organizational and corporate communication. He and his wife, Kris, live in Lena.



Joshua Dean

Dean becomes marketing chief

International Bancard, an industry-leading credit card processing and payment acceptance solutions company, has hired Joshua Dean as its chief marketing officer.

Dean brings 15 years of business, technology and executive experience to International Bancard at its corporate headquarters near Detroit.

In his role, Dean will help advance the company’s brand strategy, marketing campaigns, new product and service launches, public relations and partner development programs.

He has a wealth of knowledge and a varied skill set, given his prior roles in digital media, traditional marketing and real estate, including extensive corporate experience and personal entrepreneurism.

Dean came to International Bancard from the Chicago-based Sears Holdings Corp., where he led the national rollout of the company’s Shop Your Way program.

He served in the Illinois Army National Guard from 1999 until 2003 and graduated magna cum laude from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in business management.

Rebecca LeMire

LeMire becomes administrator for Wisconsin village

Rebecca LeMire will join the village of Darien, Wis., as the village administrator/clerk-treasurer in April.

She has worked for the city of Beloit, Wis., for eight years, including 4 ½ years as the city clerk and 3 ½ years as the community planner.

She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in public policy and her graduate degree in public administration from Northern Illinois University.

McCormack joins Ace Computers

Ace Computers, one of the leading custom computer builders and handheld personal computer (HPC) specialists in the U.S., has hired industry-leading technology sales expert John McCormack as a regional sales director.

During his 37 years in sales – 25 in technology sales – McCormack (media studies ’76) has won multiple awards. He has a track record of building long-lasting relationships with clients at many Chicago-area and national technology companies.

At Ace Computers, McCormack will focus on HPC sales for higher education and corporate markets.
