Constance Cash is the founder of Team Natural and the founding editor of IAmTeamNatural.com, a personal initiative that hosts natural hair events. In various venues, Constance expresses her passion for helping those who are transitioning to their natural roots, and provides inspiration for her followers throughout their journeys. Audrey Davis–Sivasothy is a Houston-based health scientist, aconsultant for the cosmetology industry, and the bestselling author of The Science of Black Hair, Hair Care Rehab, and The Science of Transitioning. The Science of Black Hair was born many years ago out of Audrey’s frustration with her own thinning, breaking hair, and the absolute lack of resources available to educate women of color about proper textured haircare. In fact, many of the scientifically-oriented books on hair care framed it as a hair form that was different from the norm,and either discussed textured hair in only a few paragraphs, or neglected to address its needs altogether. In the early 2000s, there was neither YouTube nor major blogs, and only a handful of websites dedicated to textured hair. Additionally, there were no authoritative, comprehensive science-based texts dedicated to caring for black hair in its natural and/or chemically-processed states. The Science of Black Hair was created to fill this void.
