Educational Principles
The basic educational principles at the university are problem-oriented project work, participant direction and joint responsibility. From enrolment to graduation, students are trained to assess the importance of academic problems and the relevance of selected theories and methods on a scientific basis. Project work is participant-directed and builds on the importance of student commitment and own and joint responsibility.
The phased choice of specialisation is based on the students’ experience with the problem areas of the individual subjects and the scientific approaches. Students gain their first experience at the basic studies, which point them in the direction of advanced-level courses, where many different specialised course studies may be combined within and across disciplines and main subject areas, both during the bachelor studies and the master’s studies.
At RUC, students are responsible for and control their education themselves. Based on their own critical sense and active participation, students are guided through their study programmes at RUC which offers an international, interdisciplinary and educationally challenging environment providing the perfect framework for their studies.
About the 2016 Roskilde University Scholarships For International Graduate Students in Denmark:
Applications are currently ongoing for the 2016 Roskilde University Scholarships For International Graduate Students in Denmark. A limited number of Danish state tuition fee waivers and scholarships are offered to highly talented students at graduate level, who come from countries outside of the EU/EEA and need a residence permit to study at Roskilde University.
Criteria for Eligibility:
In order to be eligible for a tuition fee waiver and scholarship you must be:
A graduate applicant who come from countries outside of the EU/EEA and need a residence permit to study at Roskilde University.
A graduate applicant who is required to pay a tuition fee at the university.
A graduate applicant holding a bachelor degree from Roskilde University or a graduate applicant from other universities.
Roskilde University gives priority to applicants who have shown an excellent academic performance.
You are not eligible for a tuition fee waiver and scholarship if you are:
An exchange student including an Erasmus Mundus student.
A student who is entitled to the Danish State Education Grant (SU) or other public support in Denmark. Please note that it is not possible to choose not to receive SU in order to receive a tuition fee waiver.
A student who receives a scholarship from their home country.

All eligible Masters level programmes offered at the University. For the current listings, see list of graduate programs.

Not specified, however a LIMITED number will be awarded.
Eligible Countries/Target Groups:
Citizens of ALL countries (EXCEPT those in EU/EEA).

The tuition fee waiver and scholarship has a maximum length of 22 months for programmes that start in September and a maximum length of 24 months for programmes that start in February. Tuition fee waiver students must follow the study plan and not be delayed in their studies in order to maintain the tuition waiver.
Scholarship Benefits and Inclusions:
The value of the award is the program tuition fee waiver and approximately DKK 7,800 per month to cover living expenses in Denmark.
Application Procedure/Instructions:
If you wish to be considered for a tuition fee waiver and/or scholarship, you must send a motivational letter and CV outlining your academic and occupational background.
Applicants for the master programmes who do not hold a bachelor degree from Roskilde University must enclose the above-mentioned documentation with their application for admission. Applications must be submitted before the deadline dates as announced (see DEADLINES below).

Applicants for the master programmes who do not hold a bachelor degree from Roskilde University must enclose the above-mentioned documentation with their application for admission. You must apply for admission no later than March 1 for the September entry and September 1 for the February entry.
Students who obtain their bachelor’s degree at Roskilde University and continue directly to their master studies must send the above-mentioned documentation to fulldegree@ruc.dk no later than March 1 for the September entry and September 1 for the February entry.
