Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan welcomed garden club members from eleven Maryland counties and Baltimore City to participate in a Christmas tree decorating event at the State House on Monday.

“I can’t think of a better way to get into the holiday spirit than by decorating Christmas trees with Marylanders from all parts of the state,” said Hogan. “I want to thank all of the participating garden clubs for putting their time, talents, and creativity into helping to deck the halls of the State House.”

Each of the following garden clubs personally delivered and decorated a Christmas tree to adorn the State House rotunda:

Calvert County: Calvert Garden Club

Allegany County: Garden Club of Cumberland

Howard County: Cattail River Garden Club, Split Rail Garden Club, and Howard County Garden Club

Wicomico County: Four Seasons Garden Club

Dorchester County: Dorchester Garden Club

Somerset County: Somerset County Garden Club

Baltimore City: Roland Park Garden Club

Frederick County: New Market Garden Club, Tasker’s Chance Garden Club, Garden Club of Frederick, Green-walled Garden Club

Kent County: Chestertown Garden Club

Carroll County: Carroll Garden Club, Mt. Airy Garden Club, Silver Fancy Garden Club

Prince George’s County: Forest Garden Club

Montgomery County: Monocacy Garden Club

The following clubs will deliver and decorate their trees tomorrow:

Worcester County: Worcester Garden Club

Charles County: La Plata Garden Club

Baltimore County: Monkton Garden Club

Harford County: Country Garden Club of Harford County

Talbot County: Oxford Garden Club

Cecil County: Greenfingers Garden Club

Washington County: Hagerstown Garden Club

Anne Arundel County: Four Rivers Garden Club

Queen Anne’s County: Queen Anne’s County Garden Club, Kent Island Garden Club

Caroline County: Caroline County Garden Club

Garrett County: Mountain Laurel Garden Club

St. Mary’s County: St. Mary’s Garden Club

The First Couple also presented a certificate of appreciation to each garden club.
