Problem:-

I can not stream nor download music from the music app. I recently installed win 8.1 preview on my surface pro.It doesn’t give an error code,when try to download it says ‘download error’.

Resolution:-

This issue can occur if the Music App isn’t working properly.

Method 1: Run the App troubleshooter.

Method 2. Update your app.

To update the app, you can either tap or click the notification or follow these steps:

On the Start screen, tap or click Store to open the Windows Store.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Settings.

(If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Settings.)

Tap or click App updates. If you haven’t signed in to the Windows Store, sign in using your Microsoft account.

Tap or click Check for updates.

If updates are available, swipe down on or right-click the app updates you want, and then tap or click Install.

Method 3. Sync the app license

If a license for an app is out of sync with the license installed on your PC, the app might stop working.

To sync your app licenses, follow these steps:

On the Start screen, tap or click Store to open the Windows Store.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Settings.

(If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Settings.)

Tap or click App updates. If you haven’t signed in to the Windows Store, sign in using your Microsoft account.

Tap or click Sync licenses.

Method 4.Reinstall the app

If your apps are up to date and the licenses are synced, you can reinstall the app to try to fix the problem.

To reinstall an app, follow these steps:

On the Start screen, swipe down on or right-click the app you want to uninstall, tap or click Uninstall, and then tap or click Uninstall.

Tap or click Store to open the Windows Store.

Swipe down from the top edge of the screen, and then tap Your apps. (If you’re using a mouse, point to the top of the screen, right-click, and then click Your apps.)

Tap or click the app you want to install, and then tap or click Install.

Method 5.Create another User Account with Administrative privileges.

You need to delete the user account if it got corrupted.Create another user account preferably Microsoft account.

Follow these steps to create a Microsoft account:

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.

(If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)

Tap or click Users.

Tap or click Add a user.

Enter the account info for this person to sign in to Windows. You can do this in two different ways:

If the person you’re adding already has a Microsoft account, enter it now.

If the person you’re adding doesn’t have a Microsoft account, create a new one. Enter the email address that person uses most frequently.

Tap or click Next, and then tap or click Finish.
