Randy Eugene Plumley was born on July 18, 1958, in Olivia, MN, the son of Stanley and Gladys (Arndt) Plumley. Randy was raised on a grain and livestock farm south of Bird Island where he enjoyed the daily activities of farm life. In his youth Randy enjoyed hunting, high school wrestling, friends, and family. He graduated in 1977 from Bird Island Lake Lillian High School. Due to a car accident in the Fall of 1977 Randy lived with physical and mental impairments, and thus lived in several medical group homes within the Twin Cities area. In 2002 Randy moved to Glesener’s Inc. located in Bird Island where he resided ever since. Later in life he became an avid NFL fan never missing a Minnesota Vikings game, and enjoyed all types of sporting events. Randy had a playful spirit and loved to make people laugh. He always had a joke to tell and his especially good sense of humor was one of his most desirable qualities. Randy was a faithful member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bird Island.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Gladys Plumley and his niece Kristin Plumley. He is survived by one sister: Joyce (Craig) Bangtson of Leitchfield, KY; three brothers: Larry (Natalie) Plumley of Owatonna, Les (Mary Jo) Plumley of Olivia, and Lynn (Kelly) Plumley of Bird Island; his 12 nieces and nephews: Brooke (Dave) Schmerfeld, Tara (Justin Fousenvald) Bangtson, Tim (Thia Olsen) Schmidt, Chris Schmidt, Chad (Danielle Kotecki) Plumley, Chase Plumley, Brittney Louwagie, Paige Plumley, Connor Plumley, Shawn Plumley, Kathryn (Marcus Bittner) Plumley and Kory (Jon) Eiler; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Randy is also survived by his special family and caretakers of Glesener’s Inc. in Bird Island. His immediate family extends their utmost gratitude for the loving and personal care Glesener’s gave to Randy. They truly became his second family and we couldn’t be more thankful for their care and support. As well, due to Randy’s condition he often received medical care at Renville County Hospital and Clinics. His family would also like to thank them for their professional care and efforts which were given to Randy with both concern and warmth.
