The Jasper County government job of Director of Geographic Information System, or GIS Director, was officially terminated this morning by the County Board of Supervisors. On September 6th…they unanimously agreed to outsource GIS and mapping services to Schneider Corporation of Indianapolis Indiana. Today…following the recommendation of County Human Resources Director Dennis Simon…the Supervisors eliminated GIS Director Lorraine Jackson’s position effective immediately. They also unanimously approved a resignation and release agreement with her.

The County will also pay Jackson for any earned and unused leave of absence and vacation time. By outsourcing to Schneider Corporation, the County expects to see significant cost savings as well as new benefits.

In another personnel matter today…Jason Doland was hired as an Information Technology Technician for the Information Technology Department.

Simon says Dolan will be paid 22-dollars and 17-cents per hour. He’s to start work this coming Monday October 3rd
