Welcome everyone! My favorite article from last week’s blog hop was One Acre Farm’s Hawthorne berries: Identify, Harvest and Make An Extract. Scroll down for the link. I am looking forward to seeing what you have to share with us this week!

Ok–on to the hop!

Each week the From the Farm Blog Hop co-hosts welcome a fellow blogger to come join in the fun and guest host along with us. This week’s guest host is Tammy from Our Neck of the Woods! Welcome Tammy!!

In May 2011, my husband and I moved from the city to 20 wooded acres in the middle of nowhere. We had a desire to grow our own food and get back to a simpler way of living, and city life just wasn’t cutting it. After several years of planning and working towards moving to our own homestead, we finally took the plunge and haven’t looked back. We started our blog, Our Neck of the Woods, as a way to chronicle our successes and failures along the way and show people how great homesteading can be. We hope with our blog that we are able to inspire others to live the life they’ve imagined! Our journey has not been an easy one, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I feel like we are finally right where we are meant to be.

We love just being together on our homestead and are happiest exploring the woods, working on the house, tending to the garden, collecting eggs from our chickens and guineas, and playing with our many animals. We typically blog about chickens, food, gardening, beekeeping, and anything else that inspires us and shows our progression on our journey to self-sufficiency. We hope you’ll stop by the blog at Our Neck of the Woods for a visit. And please do say hello and introduce yourself – we’d love to get to know you!
