Chiang Mai is Thailand cultural center. It is situated in the North of Thailand and is a beautiful city with many historical attractions for visitors including Lanna era temples. Not too far out of the city, on top of a hill is Wat Doi Suthep, which is a beautiful Buddhist temple complex with stunning views over Chiang Mai. The north region has many trekking opportunities too.

Chiang Mai is consider to be the perfect place in which to learn about Thai Buddhism and cooking Thai food. You can also learn to speak Thai and enjoy a Buddhist retreat at Wat Doi Suthep.
