Do you ever look up at the clock and all of a sudden it’s dinner time?  Please tell me I am not the only one!  As a busy mom being able to get dinner on the table in less than 15 minutes is sometimes necessary.  I am not one that likes to spend a lot of time cooking, so I am always looking for ways to save time in the kitchen and spend more time with my daughter.

Have you seen Barilla Pronto Pasta?  By using Barilla Pronto Pasta, one-pan meals can be made with no need to wait for water to boil and no draining required.  Which means it saves time, uses 60% less energy and less water.  Pairing Barilla Pronto Pasta which are available in a variety of cuts and Barilla Pronto Sauces open up a variety of one-pan meal options for your family.  One-pan meals also mean I have less dishes to wash too!

Great news!  For every box of Barilla® Pronto™ purchased at Walmart between 7/31/2016 and 10/31/2016, Barilla® will donate 10 meals to kids in need through No Kid Hungry, up to half-a-million meals.*

A dish that I have added onto my go to list for when I need a quick meal is Pesto Shrimp Pasta.  This dish combines Barilla Pronto Penne Pasta, Barilla Pesto Sauce and shrimp together.  It is full of 100% all natural authentic Italian herb flavor.  The Barilla Pronto delivers a yummy al dente bite with every forkful and maintains its shape and texture.

Ingredients

1 box of Barilla Pronto Penne Pasta

1 jar of Barilla Pesto Sauce

3 cups cold water

Shrimp

Basil

Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Place the Barilla Pronto Penne Pasta in a skillet and cover with 3 cups of cold water. Turn heat on high and stir regularly.

Cook for 5 minutes before adding shrimp to your pan. Then cook for another 5 minutes (depending on your stove it may take longer) until almost all the water is gone.

Stir in Barilla Pesto Sauce, fresh basil and parmesan before serving.

*I used only half the jar of pesto sauce, because I prefer a lighter taste.

After dinner, my family went on an evening walk with my daughter riding her bike ride.  I love that extra time in the evening together.

I found Barilla Pronto Pasta right next to all the other pasta at Walmart.  Be sure to look for the red banner that reads One Pan. No Boil. No Drain.  The Barilla Pesto Sauce was located in the same aisle as the pasta with the other pasta sauces.

Looking for more recipe ideas using Barilla Pronto which was selected for a Better Homes & Gardens Best New Product Award for 2016?  This simple penne with pepperoni and cheese sounds amazing!
