Tired of entering data into Dynamics GP on behalf of your users? Good news—Dynamics GP 2013 R2 contains several self-service functions that can cut down on your data entry workload.
The Dynamics GP 2013 R2 features to look for include changes to Requisition Management, Employee Self Service and Project Time. These functions are available for users who do not need full access to Dynamics GP. Thus, users can perform tasks and approvals related to transactions—including orders, requisitions, and employee information—without your company having to pay for a full user license.
What’s included:
Requisition Management
In Dynamics GP 2013 R2, employees/users can complete requisitions online on their own time. These requisitions will connect with Purchase Order Processing, and they are workflow enabled. With just a limited user license, employees can order the materials they need when they need them to keep your business running.
Employee Self Service
The Employee Self Service function in Dynamics GP 2013 R2 will be available and easy to find from its new position on your GP home page. The self-service features are HR timesavers, as employees can submit timesheets or recall previously submitted timesheets from either the web client or the desktop version of GP, and you can enter timesheets and enter time on behalf of other employees directly in Dynamics GP.
With a limited user license, employees can also view or update their personal information, manage their absences, and enter personal requisitions.
Project Time and Expense
Updates to Project Time in Dynamics GP 2013 R2 include the ability to have employees enter their own time against their projects. Employees will also be able to view timesheet documents at various points in the approval system, and they can recall and edit documents prior to the approval completion. This ensures that your customers are invoiced in a prompt and accurate manner and that your employees are efficiently reimbursed for their out-of-pocket expenses.
A few caveats:
In order for your company to use these features, your employees must be able to log in to Dynamics GP. This can be done either on a web client or a desktop client, and they must have, at a minimum, a limited user license.
Requisition Management, Project Time and Expense, and Employee Self Service are built into the core Dynamics GP 2013, also known as the Starter Pack.
