The Financial Analyst will perform the finance, accounting and operational support activities for fifteen (15) to twenty (20) company managed properties.

What will I be doing?
The Financial Analyst duties will include monthly financial reporting and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow analysis, asset management, ensuring compliance with legal contracts and agreements for assigned properties. The Team Member will be the primary corporate contact for hotel personnel and many ownership groups as well as performing routine responsibilities with no supervision or review that is necessary. It is expected that the Team Member will perform routine responsibilities with moderate supervision and make routine and non-routine decisions with guidance from a supervisor.

Other key priorities are listed below:

Monthly close of financial statements related to assigned hotel portfolio in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and with Hilton Worldwide accounting policies to include recording of journal entries, analysis, inquiries, and review

Responsible for determining and prescribing accounting treatment for more complex transactions

*
Preparation of Cash Flow Statements and analysis of cash position related to cash needs or excess cash distribution to ownership

*
Preparation of Balance Sheet Analysis to assure the validity of all balance sheet account balances and the proper support for those balances exists and is readily available

*
Analysis of capital reserve balances to include accurate calculation of reserve requirements as defined in Management or Debt Agreements. Properly fund capital reserves based upon accurate calculation of reserve requirements as defined in Management Agreements and/or Loan Documents

Act as liaison and point of contact between/for Hotel Owners, Corporate and Hotel Personnel

*
Monitor internal controls for individual hotels

*
Receive and resolve inquiries or problems for Hotels, Ownership, or other departments such as Bank Recon, Sales Tax, Payroll, A/P and Corporate

*
Miscellaneous inquiries and projects requested from Hotel, Hotel Ownership, or Corporate

*
Responsible for finalizing and reviewing the operating and capital budgets and working with Operations and internal customers in the resolution of issues

*
Ensure that budgets are accurate in regards to fixed costs and other expenses on which our department takes ownership

*
Work with supervisor to ensure that proposed budgets are ready to be presented to the owners and in some cases may participate in budget presentations

*
Ensure that monthly forecasts are accurate in regards to fixed costs and other expenses on which our department takes ownership

*
Perform variance analysis to assess the impact to the hotel, the owner, and to Hilton Worldwide

*
Participate and/or assist supervisor in special projects such as Hotel sales, Hotel purchases, gain/loss of Management Contracts, debt refinancing, and leading departmental training

*
Responsible for having a good working knowledge of the related legal agreements and , with coaching from their supervisor, ensuring that Hilton Worldwide and the individual hotel are in compliance with the terms of the applicable agreements, that risks associated with the contracts are assessed and minimized, and decisions are evaluated against contracts

*
Prepare audit schedules for internal and external audits

*
Ensure that audit reports are correct and complete

BS/BA Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum of two (2) years of related professional experience

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Windows

Ability to work extended hours if needed

Ability to travel as needed

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

Experience using PeopleSoft Financials

MS/MA Master’s Degree

Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
