Position Description The Global Director will have a business scope greater than $1B USD and will provide leadership and direction for the development of global strategy, business development strategy and marketing strategy in alignment with company sales growth and income objectives for the Chemical industry. The leader will drive the Industry strategic vision and implementation to ensure outcomes are achieved across company product lines and various geographies with a passion for continuous improvement. This leader will be accountable for achieving the goals of the business through the planning and development of organizational objectives and identification of resources and capabilities required for achievement.
Accountabilities Determine the strategic direction, marketing objectives, and execution for the assigned Industry(s) in accordance with the company-wide strategic plan.
Lead cross-functional teams to help identify and evaluate critical Industry strategic choices and priorities, growth opportunities and/or strategic challenges, and to design action in line with these priorities through business planning in order to propel and sustain business growth.
Develop the annual marketing plan and the strategies, tactics, and resources necessary to achieve system and goals.
Develop, Execute, and Own the business plans & achievement for the assigned Industry(s) which meets the Companys sales growth and income objectives. Key responsibility for maximizing customer acceptance of the company offerings.
Develop customer solutions for the industry and corresponding launch plans that will be used to coordinate external communications.
Determine the best routes to market (direct, indirect, e-commerce, etc.)
Collaborate to develop a well-defined sales enablement plan (playbooks, battlecards, presentations, training tools, demos, etc.)
Create and leverage market insights and competitive intelligence to drive business results through the research, analysis, and monitoring of financial, technological, and demographic factors with the aim to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize impacts of competitive activity. This includes competitive products and marketing activities.
Evaluate all pertinent data, statistics, and market research information to determine market potential and penetration, competitive strategies, end-user input and preferences, and product life cycle strategies to meet business objectives.
Coordinate and aligns product plans and programs into a cohesive and workable marketing plan, including product line content, pricing and profit goals, and achievement of income objectives.
Oversee the launch of solutions to the marketplace.
Architect industry plans, including the major themes that will be communicated into target markets, buyers, the landscape, and key issues.
Map products, services, and offerings from external partners into key solution categories.
Map the potential buying process for the solution, including key roles that will participate in it.
Conduct marketing surveys on current and new product concepts and provides feedback for future product development. Partners with Product Management and Engineering in the creation of product portfolio.
Plans and oversees (through partnership with Marketing Communications) the revenue generation and customer engagement activities including digital, print, and in-person events. Evaluates and recommends distribution channel development programs. Develop a social media plan to support both the solutions release as well as its ongoing lifecycle management.
Recommends product positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
Create pricing models and facilitate the pricing decisions, or work with a central pricing team as appropriate.
Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
Provide marketing skills and expertise to the company by building, developing and managing a marketing team (as necessary) that is capable of carrying out the necessary industry marketing strategies and tactics.
Maintains contact with sales representatives, sales managers, and other Company personnel to monitor customer input and concerns. Solicit input/data related to the product lines.
