Just last month, Miley Cyrus helped induct one of her idols, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That night, Cyrus shared the stage with Jett and Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl for a legendary performance. This month, Cyrus and Jett have decided to continue their collaboration with a “Backyard Sessions” video in support of the official launch of The Hippie Foundation.
Founded back in 2014 by Cyrus herself, The Happy Hippy Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on raising awareness and inspiring action for homeless youth, LGBT youth and other susceptible populations.
Donning an Elvis shirt, Beetlejuice striped jeans and dangling smiley face earrings, Cyrus joins Jett for their own rendition of “Different,” a song from Unvarnished, an album released by Jett and the Blackhearts in 2013. Filmed in Cyrus’ own backyard, the two join forces for a track full of passion and attitude. Despite the generational gap, the two talents provide the perfect duet, swapping sultry looks as Jett rocks out on the guitar.
Look out for Cyrus’ collaborative album with The Flaming Lips in the future and watch “Different” below.
