Indie rockers Arctic Monkeys will be touring North America during the winter of 2013 to 2014.
The English band was originally just doing a tour of North America at the end of 2013, but recently expanded it into 2014. Deerhunter will open for Arctic Monkeys in New York City and Boston. Tickets will be available starting November 8. They are touring to support their newest record, AM, which was streamed on iTunes before it was released. They have released videos for a couple of songs from the album: “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?” and “One for the Road.”
Arctic Monkeys will be well-practiced for live shows when the tour starts, because they’ve been rather busy performing live already this year. They played two tracks from AM on Jimmy Kimmel’s show in October. The group also paid tribute to late rocker Lou Reed with a cover of “Walk on the Wild Side” onstage in Liverpool. The Los Angeles tour stop will be a part of the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas, where Arctic Monkeys will be joined by Queens of the Stone Age, Vampire Weekend, Kings of Leon and more.
