Concert streaming company Evntlive has been acquired by Yahoo! and will integrate its technology into the online brand’s screen and music platforms.
Founded in early 2012, Evntlive launched a beta service in April 2013 and has since streamed hundreds of gigs and festivals from all over the world.
“We set out to change the way that fans engage with live music online by creating an interactive, virtual venue, said a message to users on the Evntlive website announcing the Yahoo! deal.
“We are thrilled to announce that Evntlive has been acquired by Yahoo! Although our service will no longer be available, we are excited to be joining Yahoo’s video team. Thank you to our investors, fans and the artists who helped bring our dream to life.”
Artist manager Troy Carter was among Evntlive’s backers as an advisor and investor, while the company’s founding team included former CMG CEO David Carrico and tech entrepreneur Judy Estrin.
