Otis Redding, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Delbert & Glen and Anny Celsi are all the focus on outstanding new collections.

Artist: Otis Redding

Title: The Complete Stax/Volt Singles Collection (Shout! Factory)

You might like if you enjoy: Vintage Trouble, Al Green, Mayer Hawthorne

Tell me more: The modern day neo-soul movement personified by Vintage Trouble, Mayer Hawthorne and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings owes much to the late Otis Redding. Those who only know the late rock ‘n’ soul singer for his essential “(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay” should embark on a sonic journey of discovery via the new box set “The Complete Stax/Volt Singles Collection.” With 70 songs spread across three audio CDs, the gems keep on coming. “Respect,” “Try a Little Tenderness,” “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” and “Hard to Handle” are all here. Artist: Robert Randolph & The Family Band

Title: Lickety Split (Blue Note)

You might like if you enjoy: Vintage Trouble, Al Green

Tell me more: Leading up to the release of “Lickety Split” earlier this month, it had been three years since pedal steel guitar great Robert Randolph had released a new studio album. But Randolph and his Family Band have delivered one of their best discs yet on the 12-track “Lickety Split.” The fiery “Amped Up,” gospel-tinged “Born Again” and funky “Brand New Wayo” (the latter one of several cuts featuring guitar great Carlos Santana) are among the standouts. Artist: Delbert & Glen

Title: Blind, Crippled And Crazy (New West Records)

You might like if you enjoy: Delbert McClinton, Glen Clark, Guy Clark

Tell me more: Texas Americana-blues pioneers Delbert McClinton and Glen Clark recorded two albums together in the early 1970s, drawing praise for their winning blend of country, blues and soul. A full 40 years after their last project together, the duo have reunited for the rollicking “Blind, Crippled And Crazy.” There is a full-of-life and freewheeling feel to the album that is infectious. The boogie bouncing “Been Around A Long Time” and introspective “More and More, Less and Less” are among my favorites. Information: http://www.newwestrecords.com/.

Artist: Anny Celsi

Title: January (Ragazza Music)

You might like if you enjoy: Susanna Hoffs’ 2012 album “Someday,” Aimee Mann

Tell me more: From the infectious pop-styled flow of “Au Revoir, My Darling” to the whimsical ’60s pop of “Travelogue” and Baroque folk nugget “Sank Without a Bubble,” there is winning blend of retro sonics and contemporary influences across Anny Celsi’s “January.” Whether tackling confessional folk rock (the toy piano-colored “Oh Baby, Is the Circus Back in Town?) or an effective cover of Steve Forbert’s “Wait,” there is a range and depth here equaled by the sheer joy of the performances. Information: http://www.annycelsi.com/
