The internet, albeit a great place to find new music, interviews, news, and lifestyle tips but one thing is certain, you could start off in search of an interview with a new band and the next thing you know, you are watching a How To Video about braiding the hair of your Pekinese dog. You literally have been sucked into the Wizard of Oz Internet and you have no way of finding your way back home. Imagine if you may, finding a central place featuring entertainment for your love of hard rock/heavy metal and the lifestyle. Well, Rob Dixter, Head of Content and New Media at Eleven Seven Music has done just that with the creation of Louder Noise TV, We had the opportunity to chat with Rob and find out more about this exciting news!

Thank you very much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press.  We are very excited to learn about Louder Noise TV. Can you explain to everyone what Louder Noise TV is all about?

Louder Noise will be a Hard rock / Heavy Metal lifestyle Youtube channel that will launch on July 20th.  In addition to music videos and artist interviews, there will also be lifestyle shows about things rock fans care about – cars, comedy, movies, sports, etc – hosted by known rock musicians.  We are all really excited about it!

What inspired you to create the Louder Noise TV Channel?

All over the internet there are places to find music news, places to see videos, places to find info on other things in which we are interested.  We wanted to create one central place – a lifestyle hub where rock fans could find everything they love.

With the widespread availability of Youtube in mobile media, Smart TVs, did that lead you to create the channel on a Youtube based platform versus cable or television?

Ours is a culture of instant gratification – as much as the music fan wants their shows on demand, we want feedback to make sure we are creating content that fans like and can use.  Shows on TV go through so much filtering and watering down of ideas before they get to the fans that its hardly what the creator intended anymore when you see it.  Also information does not filter up that quickly either and the show is over permanently when it could have been tweaked for people to enjoy.

The internet, although it provides an endless and immediate availability of content, it is rather limiting or ambiguous in its search for lifestyle content. So, when we learned of how Louder Noise TV will be bringing a variety of rock lifestyle shows, it was quite exciting to see that it will be available in one place. Can you tell us about some of the planned shows?

We’re approaching the shows in 2 ways.

The first is based on musical artists, so we’ll have a show with Nikki Sixx where he introduces us to new music. We have a series with Bumblefoot showing us how different guitar Gods play (including Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix). Jamey Jasta gives us parenting tips, Steel Panther reviews chick flicks (yes, you heard that correctly) and Hollywood Undead answer the Playboy centerfold questionnaire. Plus we’ll have other series with Jacoby Shaddix, DJ Ashba, BABYMETAL, Anthrax, VAMPS and Tremonti.

The second are shows about the music and the lifestyle. So in a series called VS. we’ll have fans choose between Kate Upton and Charlotte McKinney, or Brady and Manning.

We believe it is once again a very exciting time in music as we are beginning to see a resurgence of ROCK N ROLL. Possibly coming from the rock n roll community as they responded to the “Rock Is Dead” comments.  But we are also seeing quite an influx of young bands who are not just imitating the rock style of 80’s but are hard at work in creating their own style and songs. Will Louder Noise TV have a platform available for the discovery of these up and coming new rock bands?

Definitely, we believe in rock music and are getting squarely behind the genre with this channel. Nikki Sixx will have a show on the channel solely devoted to unearthing new music and new bands before anyone else has heard it/them.  We’ll also have music videos and webisodes from up-and-coming rock bands.

What is the timeframe for the launch of Louder Noise TV and the new channel?

We have started gathering content/interviews already, but the channel will officially launch on July 20th 2015

Will it provide any paid subscription services for exclusive content, concerts or features?

I’ll never rule anything out for the future, but the ethos upon our launch is for ALL our content to be exclusive content, concerts and features.  You’ll see our content all over the place, embedded on other sites as well as on our page starting in July.

With your rich history in the music industry and after witnessing some of the largest changes in the music industry in the past couple decades with music streaming, illegal downloads, etc. What is something you would like to see change in the music industry?

Aside from Axl and Slash reuniting?

I’d like to see a return to singers who can actually sing. I’m talking more about the pop genre than the rock genre, obviously, there are a bunch of kids and people who want to be famous without having the talent to actually sing. If you want to see some real talent, check out Apocalyptica’s new album , Shadowmaker. They brought Franky Perez on as their singer and that guy is incredible. He’s got incredible range for a rock singer.

How can we all be a part of that change and what can the everyday music fan do to help make that happen?

Support real music, real musicians and the rock genre as a whole, not fads that are here today and gone tomorrow.

With the launch of Louder Noise TV, do you have any plans to branch out with other channels specific to other genres?

No. We’re all about the hard rock/ metal scene. We don’t want to be ok at many things. We want to be great at that one thing that means the most to us.  Everyone here at the channel is a rock fan – we are here to do the genre justice.

Lastly, is there anything else you would like to share with our audience?

Just that we hope you’ll all check out Louder Noise on YouTube when it launches July 20th. If you like hard rock/ metal, I guarantee you’ll love this channel.

Hell yes! This is a dream come true. I can actually head over to Youtube and find a channel that is dedicated my love of  hard rock/metal and not end up watching an origami class. But maybe…. there will be an origami class on how to make paper rock hand signs!! Time to start searching or maybe I will just wait for Louder Noise TV!

Make sure to mark your calendars for the launch on July 20th and get ready for Louder Noise TV.
