My life is busy and my memory is terrible, which is pretty much the worst combination, so I welcome anything that makes life run a little smoother. Which is why I love the concept of subscription boxes; you place the order online and every month they turn up, just like magic!

Nowadays it seems like you can get pretty much anything sent to your doorstep – a veritable smorgasbord of deliverable delights – so to help you cut through the clutter I’ve gone and picked out 10 of what I consider the best. And here they are, in no particular order.

You’re welcome.

// YOOHOO MAIL //

There are a few stationery boxes out there, but I ADORE this one. For £10, including delivery, you’ll get a lovely box of up to 20 mixed goodies that could include greetings cards, art prints, postcards, gift tags and to-do sheets. The designs are cool and contemporary, and ensure you have the perfect card for any occasion. These are so pretty they make you want to sit down and write. There are a limited number each month, which means when they’re gone, they’re gone – which is why you need to buy a three-month subscription to ensure you don’t miss out.

// GLOSSYBOX //

What I love the most about the GLOSSYBOX (apart from, well, makeup!) is that it allows you to try new beauty goodies before you commit to the full-sized or full-priced versions. For as little as £8.50 per month (for the 12-month plan – £10 per month for standalone boxes) you’ll receive five products – including makeup, skincare and hair treatments – carefully curated from hundreds of luxury health and beauty brands. They’re a great way of discovering products you may not have come across, or thought to try otherwise, and the sample sizes are ideal for popping in your wash bag and taking on weekends away.

// LE PETIT BALLON //

Exclusive wines that come to you – what’s NOT to love about the Le Petit Ballon subscription box? 40,000 people have already signed up to the French version, and now it’s available here in the UK, with every wine tested and approved by Jean-Michel Deluc – former chef sommelier at The Ritz. Each month you’ll receive two full bottles of wine that have been carefully selected according to your likes and dislikes. You won’t find these wines in the supermarkets, and each one is accompanied with tasting notes, and Le Petit Ballon’s magazine The Gazette. Choose from the Apprentice box (£24.90 including delivery) and the Master box (£39.90 including delivery).

// TOUCANBOX //

Keeping the kids entertained is always a challenge; a Toucan Box subscription is a fun way to encourage their creativity and avoid those cries of ‘I’m boooooooooored!’There are three boxes to choose from: Petite (£3.95 +£0.98 postage) comes fortnightly, and contains everything you need for one craft activity, while monthly boxes Grande (£9.95 + £2.95 postage) and Super (£16.95 + £2.95 postage) contain two and four arty endeavours respectively. Each project has been specifically designed by education experts, and you can opt to pay a bit more to add extra materials for siblings.

// BOOK & A BREW //

One of life’s greatest pleasures is also one of its simplest – a good book and a hot cuppa – and Book and a Brew ensures you have a steady supply of both with its monthly subscription service. For £12.99 a month (or £14.99 for a stand-alone box) you’ll receive a mystery hardback book and a box of quality tea. All books are carefully selected, professionally published titles and Book and a Brew promise to never repeat a title. With this subscription you’re not just buying a read and a Rosie Lee, you’re buying much-deserved me-time.

// FRICTION FREE SHAVING //

Friction Free Shaving is that subscription you never knew existed, but as soon as you do you wonder how you possibly survived without it. This genius idea allows you to pick from three different razor options: two-blade ‘Faye’ for £3, three-blade ‘Frankie’ for £5 or five-blade ‘Samantha’ for £7 per month. Every month you receive four refills – that’s a fresh blade for every week. No more exorbitant prices, blunt shaves or irritated skin.

// BLOOM & WILD //

There’s nothing quite like fresh flowers to instantly brighten up your home, and your mood. With Bloom & Wild you get a gorgeous hand-packed bouquet posted through your letterbox. There are three stunning bunches to choose from – each designed by a professional florist – and loads of delivery options, including weekly, fortnightly and monthly. Sign up for three, six or 12 months, or opt for an on-going subscription for as little as £15 per delivery.

// PINK PARCEL //

Wouldn’t periods be so much more bearable if they were accompanied with a box of lovely little me-time treats? Oh, wait… that’s exactly what Pink Parcel promises: a collection of indulgent little gifts that arrive alongside your convenient monthly order of tampons and pads. Expect to uncover gifts including makeup, skincare, face masks and sweet treats, all designed to give you a little lift when you need it the most. Your initial box will cost just £6.99, then £10.50 each month (including postage).

// LIFEBOX //

Want to eat healthier but not sure how, or where, to start? The Lifebox helps you turn over a nutritious new leaf with its carefully curated box of delicious whole foods. Each month you’ll get to sample the latest health food goodies, including protein bars, nuts & seeds, drinks and super-food snacks. Pop them in your bag for work, or keep them in your cupboard at home, and start reaping the rewards of cleaner eating. There are a range of boxes to choose from: the kids’ Junior box is £13.95, Everyday and Cleanse boxes are £19.95, and the Men and Women’s boxes are £21.95.

// FARMISON & CO //

The Farmison Monthly Meat Box makes meal planning simple. Every few weeks you’ll receive a selection of premium poultry and beef, pork and lamb from heritage breeds (traditional UK livestock bred over centuries for maximum flavour). Each £44.95 box is carefully chosen by their Master Butcher to include a mix of produce; including beef skewers, pork loin, gammon steak, burgers, chicken breast, diced lamb and sausages. You’ll save an average of £10 on every box, and all contents can be frozen to enjoy later.
