In this film, FW de Klerk remembers the day in parliament that he put South Africa on a new course and reveals what gave him the courage to continue on that difficult road, as well as why he would advise anyone against trying to emulate him.
21ICONS SOUTH AFRICA is a multimedia venture spanning film (television and internet), photography (print and posters) and social media (Twitter, Facebook, website, YouTube), 21 ICONS South Africa celebrates the lives of 21 extraordinary South Africans who have been catalysts in shaping our nation’s and the global landscape, whether in a sociopolitical, environmental or artistic sense. The brainchild of leading photographer and filmmaker Adrian Steirn, this annual collection represents and honours the legacy of the most iconic of them all, Nelson Mandela. In one way or another, all of these men and women have been an inspiration through their extraordinary contribution to South Africa and the world. Steirn plans to extend 21 ICONS South Africa globally to include countries such as India, China, the US and the UK, and also the rest of the African continent.
