The 13th KiDS ROCK Nashville Presented by the YMCA of Middle Tennessee took place Sunday, April 27 at LP Field. After weeks of training, over 6,000 children, grades K-7 ran the “final mile” in their race to become KiDS ROCK marathoners.
Race day is the culmination of a school-based running program designed to tackle childhood obesity through prevention. The non-timed, non-competitive event has become synonymous with introducing the fun of fitness and running to kids at a time when poor nutrition and a widespread lack of exercise threatens the health of an entire generation.
Mayor Karl Dean was at the finish line to congratulation the finishers.
