Zayn Malik has joined another band — at least for one song. The former One Direction singer collaborated with British electronic pop duo Snakehips on its new single “Cruel,” which was released July 15 at midnight.

The song features lyrics that are both steamy and resentful: “Back where we left off/ Watch you take your dress off/ I’ve been by myself remembering you/ Your body hurts me/ Loopin’ ’round like CCTV/ In all this bitterness you stay so sweet,” Zayn sings.

Snakehips, consisting of Oliver Lee and James Carter, is working on a full-length album that will feature the Zayn collab, and other previously released tracks with Tinashe, Chance the Rapper, Anderson Paak and others, reported Billboard.

Malik’s post-One Direction career has been warmly received. His debut single “Pillowtalk” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year, and his so debut record Mind of Mine topped the Billboard album chart.
