Haven’t figured out what you’re going to do this weekend? We got you covered. Check out our definitive guide to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in the Bay Area.

Friday, March 14:

Celtic punk band Flogging Molly is playing at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Looks like it’s sold out, but you might be able to score some tickets on StubHub.

Taverna Aventine at the meeting of the FiDi and North Beach in San Francisco is hosting their Sixth Annual St. Paddy’s Day Alley Party. It’s free (drinks are not, obviously), but there will be some DJs and a Food Truck.

Saturday, March 15:

Trad Irish Band The Gas Men play at The Plough and Stars at 116 Clement Street in the Inner Richmond of San Francisco. There will likely be a cover, but if you want to go the route of true traditional Irish bar, this is your best bet.

Other bars in the city offering Irish music include The Irish Bank (which is free to get into before noon) and O’Reilly’s in North Beach.

The city’s 163rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place (presented by United Irish Societies) will commence downtown at Market and Second Streets and wrap up at Civic Center Plaza, as usual. More info here.

For the weekend warriors, the Marina district’s Crossroads’ St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl will guide partiers to a slew of watering holes (including Eastside West, Circa, Blue Light, and others). Details on tickets here.

If you’re looking for more of a culinary celebration, the SOMA Streat (get it?) Food Park at 428 11th St. will serve up tradition Irish fare via their food trucks at 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday with music, games, and of course, beer.

Dublin (in the East Bay, not in Ireland) will host a parade starting at 9:30 am at Amador Plaza.

Sunday, March 16:

The Pogues’ tribute band, The Brogues, will play at Make-Out Room. Tickets for $8 here.

The United Irish Cultural Center of San Francisco and the United Irish Societies are joining hands to put together what is likely the most traditional holiday celebration at 45th Ave and Sloat Street in the Outer Sunset. It’s free, and there will be plenty of music and traditional dancing.

The Riptide at Taraval and 47th will serve up Stoli Bacon Bloody Marys and some deals on Irish booze. Come back on Monday, when they offer free Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner.

Monday, March 17:

O’Reilly’s and The Plough and Stars are back with more live music, starting at noon for O’Reillys and 9pm for TP&S. Door prices are around $10. Also, Elbo Room, John Colins bar, and The Chieftain will have Irish bands at 9 pm, 6 pm and 5 pm, respectively.

Royal Exchange’s block party in FiDi at Front and Sacramento Streets is bringing in cover band Wonderbread5 to play. Best news: it’s free, and it starts at three. Details here.

Rosie McCann’s Irish Pub in San Jose will serve green beer all day (starting at 9:30 am) and will host a few bagpipers.

Spice Monkey Restaurant in Oakland will feature Kaseem Bentley for “Laugh City” St. Patrick’s Day Comedy. RSVP here for free (or pay $15 at the door). Two drink minimum applies.

The Great American Music Hall hosts Colm ó Riain, an Irish fiddler, and Lucia Comnes and her Rockin’ Irish Band. Tickets for $20 via their site or you can try to enter to win tickets here at FunCheapSF.
