Before I begin this list, I must say that I’m not a huge fan of Star Wars. I know a few characters names and some of the iconic lines, but I don’t rave about it like others do. The fan base is huge and you can see why, the films haven't aged a day and they still look great and entertain to this day. 2015 has been a marvellous year for big franchises with sequels like Jurassic World, Terminator, James Bond and The Hunger Games. However, none of these have been as hotly anticipated as Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The trailers are terrific and I reckon the film itself will be a thrilling adventure, we eager viewers have just a few more weeks left till we can experience the 7th entry. After checking out all the TV Spots and full trailers, here are 10 reasons I've excited to see Star Wars Episode VII!

10. Harrison Ford's return to form - Morning Glory, 42, Paranoia, Ender's Game. I hate to say it but lately, Harrison Ford has seemed completely disinterested in all his roles. I'd go as far to say he's phoning it in, I hope that's not the case with his return as Han Solo! There's no denying that when in the trailer he says "Chewie, we're home" we all got chills and couldn't help but smile!

9. 3D - Ships flying in and out of desert landscapes, sprawling rows of stormtroopers, lightsabers and futuristic tech galore, Star Wars was made for 3D! All this in the third dimension, it'll be spectacular to be able to feel the true expanse of the Death Star as well as get even closer to the action.

8. J.J. Abrams Style - He reinvigorated Star Trek with not one but two terrific films, delivering a sense of wonder, enthralling action and a superbly balanced blend of comedy and drama, who better to choose than J.J. Abrams to direct the latest Star Wars? Remember the lens flare controversy surrounding Into Darkness? I'm all for more lens flare, just as long as he utilises his fluid and fast paced camerawork, dutch angles and a solid tone!

7. Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma - A fantastic addition to Game of Thrones as Brienne Of Tarth, yet criminally wasted in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, I'm hoping Star Wars gives Christie a chance to shine as Captain Phasma, a stormtrooper honing chrome armour looking rather menacing. Even if we don't see her face, I'm confident she can pull off a seriously memorable baddie, one that may be a new franchise favourite.

6. Millennium Falcon - When the first trailer was released, it boasted an incredible shot of the famous ship ducking, dodging and weaving in and out of a firefight mid-air, I am very excited to see how the ship is part of the action and story this time around, I'm positive there's bound to be one hell of a set piece!

5. John Williams' Score - It's impossible to imagine this franchise without legendary composer John Williams! Commanding, emotional, epic, dark and wondrous, you can guarantee that a standout aspect of The Force Awakens will be its score.

4. Performances - Oscar Isaac, Domnhall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong'o, John Boyega and a boatload more of talented stars will be taking us on the seventh Star Wars adventure! However I am most eager to see Daisy Ridley as Rey, an actress who has appeared out of the blue and landed a massive, massive role. I'm sure she'll knock it out of the park, some of the trailers have her looking like a bonafide action star!

3. Where Is Mark Hamill? - Just where is Luke Skywalker? One can comment and speculate he may have turned to the dark side, or he could be an undercover stormtrooper? Maybe he's not in it at all, or his appearance just a cameo? We will wait and see, the chatter and set secrets have been kept very tight.

2. Forest Fight - The shot of John Boyega's Finn arming his lightsaber in a dark forest, squaring up to an impending danger, is one of the few moments in all the promotional material that gets me pumped everytime! It's epic and jaw dropping, possibly marking the start of an intense fight? Here' hoping so!

1. Lightsabers - Because lightsabers! Need I say more? The most awesome thing about sci-fi and Star Wars itself, is the lightsabers. I want one for Christmas.
