Now, with the divide between DC's cinematic and television operations seemingly growing wider by the day, many fans had more-or-less given up hope of ever seeing certain key members of the DC comic-book universe on both the big and small screens. After all, with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman seemingly barred from appearing on TV, it seemed as though Supergirl, Green Arrow and (imminently) the Teen Titans' presence on our television screens would similarly prohibit them from turning up in the DC Cinematic Universe.

As it turns out, though, there might not have been quite so much reason to worry as we initially thought. Y'see:

It Sounds as Though the Teen Titans Might Be Making Their Way to the DC Cinematic Universe

Or, at least, that's the latest rumor to hit the web, courtesy of Heroic Hollywood's Umberto Gonzalez, who recently popped up in the latest episode of Collider Heroes to reveal that:

"From what I'm hearing...DC's going the team route. Justice League will be their all-stars, Suicide Squad will be the villain team, Justice League Dark is their misfit team, and then Cyborg bunched up with the Teen Titans could be the teen team, and they're even thinking about an all female cast."

One of the most intriguing parts of that reveal, if Gonzalez is indeed correct? If we really do get to see a Teen Titans movie, it seems there's a pretty solid chance that we'll see Cyborg as part of the (essentially a junior Justice League) team. Which, for fans of the 2000's animated series, is obviously good news...

...but might also suggest - seeing as he's also set to star in the upcoming Justice League movies - that he would be taking on the role of mentor to a younger generation of superheroes.

Beyond that, a Titans movie would seem a no-brainer for DC, seeing as it would open up a world of young adult-friendly movies that could offer a very different sort of superhero film to a highly saturated marketplace. After all, Marvel Studios' specialty thus far has been in making adult heroes endearing to everyone - leaving an opening for DC when it comes to teenaged heroes (at least until Spider-Man hits the MCU). What a Teen Titans movie would mean for the upcoming Titans TV series, though, remains to be seen.

The even more intriguing part of Gonzalez' comments, though?

It Sounds Like We Might Get a Birds of Prey Movie Too

After all, that final line about an "all female cast"? That must surely be a reference to a long-dreamed about move adaptation of the fan-favorite Birds of Prey. Essentially a team made up of ridiculously bad-ass (and loosely Batman-affiliated) female heroes, the Birds of Prey only arrived in DC Comics back in 1995, with a central line-up of Barbara Gordon and Black Canary (to which The Huntress was later added) and a rotating cast of supporting heroes.

Or, in other words, it would make for not only a potentially terrific movie, but an intriguing statement of intent from DC in terms of putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to the equal representation of female heroes.

The big question now?

Could Those Movies Actually Happen?

After all, this is - sadly - all still just rumor, and there's no way of knowing whether Gonzalez' sources will ultimately prove to be correct. Add in the already-pretty-full schedule DC has lined up for the next five years, and the uncertainty surrounding the presence of the Titans on TV, and the whole thing is still very much up in the air.

Still, it'd be great if it turned out to be for real, no?

What do you reckon, though?

What DC movies do you want to see get made?
