According to USA Today, the Star Wars: Episode 8 director will pick up the story right where it left off. Moreover, there will be no time-jump.

“I don’t want to skip ahead two years.” Rian Johnson says. “I want to see the very next moment of what happens.” He further adds, how Luke and Rey relate to each other is a part of the movie. And “a large part of the movie” will be spent addressing why Luke is there and what he will do next, reports the website.

Star Wars: Episode 8 Director Teases Rey’s Plot

Star Wars: Episode 8 director revealed how the film portrayed the role of Rey in the film. He says, “She’s taking her first step to coming to terms with this thing inside her that she never knew was there and is just starting to reveal its potential” reports USA Today.

Actress Daisy Ridley played the character Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In the movie, she becomes involved with the Resistance’s conflict with the First Order.

After the untimely death of actress Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), fans felt curious to know how the story will proceed in Star Wars: Episode 8. According to reports, the late actress finished filming her part in the movie.

Rian Johnson did not reveal anything about Carrie Fisher’s character Princess aka General Leia. But several media reports have revealed that she will play a larger role in this movie. Star Wars: Episode 8 is set to release on Dec 15, 2017.
