MTV has renewed The Shannara Chronicles series from Alfred Gough and Miles Millar for another season. The production of Season 2 has already begun in New Zealand. They also added some new characters to its storyline. MTV also revealed a mini synopsis of Season 2 that gave some hints about the upcoming movie.

The series has revealed a lot of spoilers. MTV has given some major hints about The Shannara Chronicles Season 2. The upcoming season will include new characters.
Vanessa Morgan, Malese Jow, Gentry White, Caroline Chikezie and Desmond Chiam will portray these roles. Joining them are the original cast members of Season 1. The story of MTV’s fantasy drama will begin one year later where season 1 finale concluded. (Via Deadline)
The Four Lands is in complete chaos. It was after the fact that magic has re-emerged in the place. As a result, the event immediately terrified everyone. The Crimson is an organized group is chasing magic users by using fear and threats. They wanted to propagate conflict among the races.
Wil (Austin Butler) is heartbroken after losing Amberle (Poppy Drayton). The pain gets further intensified due to his separation from Eretria (Ivana Baquero). The circumstances turn him to a healer and he keeps himself away from magic.
However, the recent situations will bring him back in the fight. He will see Eretria again. Aside from their reunion, he also learned that Brandon is on a mission. He plans to resurrect a creature of darkest evil: The Warlock Lord.
Season 1 Critical Reception & Reviews
The fantasy drama received mixed and average reviews with decent ratings. It was not surprising that MTV renewed the series. It created a niche of the audience for itself in the opening season. Some of the fans have compared it to HBO’s super successful show Games of Thrones. However, they are based in a different universe and do not share any similarities.
The series is set in The Elfstones of Shannara. It begins with the return of demons from the land of Forbidding, which was protected by an ancient tree. Wil, Amberle, and Eretria pledge to protect the Ellcrys and the Four Lands. Fans are anxiously waiting the upcoming season.
The series has already started speculating the unforeseen event of the show. The Shannara Chronicles Season 2 have no premiere dates so far. But, it is likely to come out by the end of this year.
