Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook are leaving the popular Korean variety show Running Man. They will be filming their final episodes soon.
Recent media reports suggest that the two were forced out of the show, and they came to know about their departure through media reports.
The news of Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook leaving the show comes only a few weeks after Gary’s exit. Speculations are now rife that perhaps the show might get canceled as show’s popular cast members are exiting.
Song Ji Hyo, Kim Joong Kook Forced Out of Running Man?
According to SBS, many media reports alleged that Song Ji Hyo and Kim Joong Kook did not know about their exit from the show. They came to know about it only when the official media reports were out.
Moreover, Song Ji Hyo and Kim Joong Kook’s agency have pointed out this last minute changes in a statement. SBS reports that her agency has pointed out the lack of active communication.
“…However, it is true there was a lack of active communication from the production crew in the steps leading up to Song Jihyo leaving the show,” the agency said.
But further accepting the decision it states that “there is a lot of regret emotionally but as it is the production’s decision, we will humbly accept it.”
Meanwhile, Kim Joong Kook’s agency states that, “…It’s true everyone knew that a change was in order due to the fact that the ratings were going low but this type of goodbye doesn’t only hurt the producers it wounds the artists as well.“
It appears that both Running Man stars Song Ji Hyo and Kim Joong Kook were aware of changes coming up in the show. But perhaps they had no clue about their own exit.

Who Returns in Running Man Season 2
After the exit of Running Man star Gary, Song Ji Hyo and Kim Joong Kook there is a possibility that the show might get canceled. As the show’s popular cast members are exiting, chances of this variety show returning for Season 2 appear bleak.
But according to SBS, there are reports which state that the show will transition into Season 2 starting in 2017. Hence, fans are curious to know which Running Man stars will return for Season 2? There is a possibility that Kang Ho-dong may join the cast.
According to the outlet, they confirmed that Yoo Jae-suk will remain on the show. However, the show is yet to decide on the fate of the remaining cast members, Lee Kwang-soo, Ji Suk-jin, and Haha.
What’s Next After End of Monday Couple?
The Monday Couple, Gary and Song Ji Hyo, entertained fans with their humor on Running Man. With their respective exit from the show, Running Man, fans are eager to know if there will be a new couple formed.
