One of the most anticipated TV series to premiere next year is “Prison Break.” If “Game Of Thrones” and “The Walking Dead” were to skip next year for their respective seasons, “Prison Break” season 5 would probably be the most-awaited one. Regardless, fans have been clamoring for years for this TV series to come back to the small screen.
The revival season comes after a successful run from 2005 to 2009 for four seasons with a total of 81 episodes. When it ended, no one really anticipated that a revival season would come to life. And now that it finally has, fans want every bit of information from the filming progress to the details of what will happen in the upcoming season.
Actor Dominic Purcell, who is playing the character of Lincoln Burrows, recently did an interview with Dateline and shared some details about the plot for “Prison Break” season 5. He said that next season will deal with more real-life issues like terrorist events in certain parts of the world.
It can be noted that the filming is in Morocco, but the show is supposedly happening in Yemen. He mentioned that when they ended the previous season, Michael Scofield, played by Wentworth Miller, was presumed dead. He, however, will return for the upcoming season and at some point ended up working for ISIS and ISA.
Purcell further detailed that when Michael wanted out of the organization, they threw him in jail to change his mind. That is when Lincoln would fly to Yemen and take him out of prison.
Just the plot itself is exciting enough. But as The Christian Times reported, Dominic Purcell continued that in season 5, fans will be “blown away.” The riveting, high-tension thriller does not only have the suspense and action that “Prison Break” has. But because they are now dealing with a real organization terrorizing the entire world, it also hits so close to home for many viewers.
