The Manhattan Special Victims Unit can finally rest easy with one high profile case finally closed. That is, until another high profile case opens that puts one of their own in danger once again.
Meanwhile, it seems like Detective Dominick “Sonny” Carisi (Peter Scanavino), will have his work cut out for him in the upcoming episode; and it seems like the unit will be saying hello to a very familiar face pretty soon.
WARNING: This article will contain spoilers for the seventeenth season of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, and the episodes “Unholiest Alliances”, “Sheltered Outcasts” and “Fashionable Crimes”.
Finally, the Manhattan Special Victims Unit can breathe easy, at least for the time being, especially as they were able to get Lieutenant Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) back after the events of the two part episode that just concluded.
Throughout the episode, Detective Dominick “Sonny” Carisi, Jr. (Peter Scanavino) was quite affected by that case, especially as he is a good Catholic, and they were going against some corrupt members of the Church.
However, it seems like Carisi will still be put to the test while working at the Special Victims Unit, particularly in the upcoming episode “Sheltered Outcasts”.
The promotional video that was just recently shared on Spoiler TV shows Carisi going undercover at a homeless shelter, in order to see if one of the residents there is their suspected rapist.
While undercover, Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) began to worry about him and it seemed as if her worries are valid as Carisi, while undercover, was mistaken for a rapist, and was beaten up by a father looking for justice for his daughter.
Another scene shows Benson looking at the body of someone who had just died recently, but it was not shown as to whose body is under the tarpaulin.
However, not everything is doom and gloom at the Special Victims Unit, as Entertainment Weekly has just reported that “SVU” veteran Richard Belzer, who portrayed Sergeant John Munch for more than twenty seasons, will be returning for one episode in May.
According to the report, they will be asking for his help on a case in which a model said that she was taken advantage of by a fashion house photographer. The episode will be entitled “Fashionable Crimes”.
