From superheroes to fairy tales, 2017 has a slew of options to offer for movie fans. This year offers long-awaited sequels of popular titles such as Blade Runner 2049 and T2: Trainspotting as well as new installments from beloved franchises like Star Wars VIII and The Fate of the Furious. As early as now, clear out your schedule for the upcoming movies this year.

Here are the Top 20 Movies to See in 2017:

1. xXx: Return of Xander Cage (Jan. 20)

After more than a decade, Vin Diesel reprises the role that made him a movie star in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. The third installment of the action movie also stars Nina Dobrev, Deepika Padukone, Ruby Rose and Samuel L. Jackson.

2. Fifty Shades Darker (Feb. 10)

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are back for more in Fifty Shades Darker! The sequel of the best-selling book series by E.L. James will dig deeper into the story of the enigmatic Christian Grey. Directed by James Foley, it also stars Kim Basinger and Tyler Hoechlin.

3. John Wick: Chapter 2 (Feb. 10)

Keanu Reeves stars as a retired hitman brought back to the game with the murder of his dog (a gift from his late wife) in John Wick: Chapter 2. The sequel to the surprise 2014 action hit from director Chad Stahelski adds Laurence Fishburne and Ruby Rose.

4. The LEGO Batman Movie (Feb. 10)

A spin-off of 2014’s The LEGO Movie, The LEGO Batman Movie aims to succeed where Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice failed. The Joker (Zach Galifianakis), upset that he is not the Dark Knight’s arch-nemesis, launches an attack in Gotham City. Bruce Wayne (Will Arnett) has to team up with Robin (Michael Cera) and Batgirl (Rosario Dawson) to protect his city against villains. The movie also stars Ralph Fiennes as Alfred.

5. Logan (Mar. 3)

For the final time, Hugh Jackman is Wolverine in Logan. A few years into the future, Professor X (Patrick Stewart) is losing his memory and mutant births all over the world are declining. However, a company called Transigen are taking children and turning them into killing machines. Wolverine meets X-23 and vows to protect her.

6. T2: Trainspotting (Mar. 3)

Twenty years later, Ewan McGregor reunites with Johnny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle, Ewen Bremner and director Danny Boyle in T2: Trainspotting. The anticipated sequel to the 1996 movie picks up elements from Irvine Welsh’s follow-up book, Porno.

7. Beauty and the Beast (Mar. 17)

The live-action retelling of the 1991 classic, Beauty and the Beast, stars Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast. The movie also stars Sir Ian McKellen, Ewan McGregor, Emma Thompson, Luke Evans and Stanley Tucci.

8. The Fate of the Furious (Apr. 14)

The eighth installment of the street-racing franchise, Fast & Furious, is the first film following Paul Walker’s death. The movie will see Vin Diesel be at odds with his former family. It also stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Scott Eastwood, Jason Statham, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez and Charlize Theron.

9. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (May 5)

Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillian and Bradley Cooper will save the universe again in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The superhero/sci-fi movie adds Kurt Russell, Chris Sullivan, Elizabeth Debicki, Pom Klementieff and Sylvester Stallone.

10. Alien: Covenant (May 19)

Ridley Scott returns to his sci-fi franchise in Alien: Covenant. Following 2012’s Prometheus, the movie sees the colony ship called the Covenant as it discover a paradise world on the other side of the galaxy. However, a danger awaits them. It stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride and Noomi Repace.

11. Baywatch (May 26)

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars in the big screen adaptation of long-running television show, Baywatch. The action-comedy movie also stars Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario and Hannibal Buress with a cameo appearance from David Hasselhoff.

12. Wonder Woman  (June 2)

Now the world is ready for Gal Gadot as Amazonian warrior, Diana Prince in Wonder Woman. The superhero movie also stars Chris Pine and Robin Wright.

13. Spider-Man: Homecoming (Jul 7)

Marvel newcomer, Tom Holland is bitten by a radioactive spider in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The newest hero on the MCU block is joined by Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya and Michael Keaton.

Idris Elba is a wandering knight in the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. It also stars Matthew McConaughey as his nemesis, The Man in Black.

15. Blade Runner 2049 (Oct. 6)

Harrison Ford revisits Rick Deckard 30 years after in Blade Runner 2049. The sci-fi movie also stars Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, and Robin Wright.

16. Kingsman: The Golden Circle (Oct. 6)

This year, Taron Egerton will teach viewers how to be a proper gentleman in the spy movie, Kingsman: The Golden Circle. It also stars Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, Jeff Bridges and Colin Firth.

17. Thor: Ragnarok (Nov. 3)

Chris Hemsworth as Thor, The God of Thunder, is teaming up with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and Mark Ruffalo’s the Hulk in Thor: The Dark World. The superhero movie also stars Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum and Anthony Hopkins.

18. Justice League (Nov. 17)

Following his bout with Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Bruce Wayne rounds up meta-humans to form Justice League. Zack Snyder directs DC Extended Universe’s biggest cinematic event yet.

19. Star Wars VIII (Dec. 15)

The still-untitled eighth installment to the sci-fi opera, Star Wars, follows Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac) in the quest to save the galaxy from The First Order. Mark Hamill and late Carrie Fisher also co-star.

20. Jumanji (Dec. 22)

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillian and Jack Black are stuck in a game in the reimagining of the 1995 classic, Jumanji. Moreover, the fantasy adventure aims to make the original star, the late Robin Williams, proud.
