Female nominees for the 2014 Billboard Music Awards:

Lorde (12 BBMA nominations)

Lorde (Real name:Ella Yelich-O’Connor) first invaded the airwaves with her nostalgic “Royals” from her debut album “Pure Heroine). Since then, the 17-year old singing protege from New Zealand have been the apple of the eyes of critics including the 2014 Grammys, where she won “Song of the Year” and “Best Pop Solo Performance.”

In the list of nominees for the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, she is currently one of the top contenders with twelve nominations. This is Lorde’s Billboard debut at the music awards event.

Her Grammy fashion style: During her Grammy debut, she rocked her “gothic-witch vibe” with her signature curly mane, dark lipstick, a sleeveless white button-up and black trousers.

Katy Perry (10 BBMA nominations)

At her 2014 Grammy performance with Juicy J, she channeled “witchcraft” in a black bustier with glowing red outlines and a purple cape.

Her Grammys fashion style: A sheer, white Valentino gown adorned with musical notes, which came from the new spring/summer 2014 Haute Couture collection.

Miley Cyrus (9 BBMA nominations)

Miley Cyrus shed her child star status from her portrayal as the pop star Hannah Montana, but her transformation was bombarded with controversy. Despite all of that, she has evolved music-wise and her songs have been some of the anthems for 2014.

She also joins the list of big-time music acts who skipped the 2014 Grammys alongside Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, as posted by NY Daily News.

Beyonce (6 BBMA nominations)

Beyonce wowed the Grammys crowd with her sexy performance of “Drunk In Love.” She wore an all-black ensemble, smoky eyes and a wet bob. She was later joined by her hubby Jay Z in a dapper-looking black tuxedo.

Her Grammys fashion style: A sexy white sheer dress, which was custom designed by Michael Costello.

Pink (2014 BBMA’s Top Touring Artist nominee)

Pink (Real name: Alicia Moore) performed an impressive acrobatic act with her song “Try” in a black lacy bodysuit.

Her Grammys fashion style: A white stripped Jean Paul Gaultier sheer dress (2011), black Armani with plunging V neckline (2012) and  a customized red Azzedine Alaia dress in 2013.

Taylor Swift (3 BBMA nominations)

It’s all about sparkles for country crooner Taylor Swift. She performed an emotional piano number of her song “All Too Well” while still looking like an ethereal goddess in a grey chiffon gown from Alberta Ferretti’s 2013 pre-Fall collection.

Her 2014 Grammys fashion style: She also sparkled in a gold, chainmail-inspired Gucci Premiere dress.

Lady Gaga (3 BBMA nominations)

Lady Gaga had recently replaced her risque fashion with seemingly “toned-down” ensembles that make her fresh beauty stand out. But being a true-blue fashion chameleon herself, she continues to wear fashion-forward styles that complement her eccentric personality.
