With Beyonce and Jay Z both releasing hit albums last year, it is no surprise the music power couple are both set to perform at the Grammy awards ceremony.

An advert aired on the American channel CBS confirmed the pair would be performing alongside the likes of Lorde, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Kendrick Lamar on the star-studded night.

Following the success of their latest hit, Drunk In Love, from Beyonce’s visual album, Beyoncé, the rumour mill is buzzing with talk of the pair performing the track during the awards ceremony this sunday (January 26) at the Staples Center.

I doubt this news will please fans who have taken offence to Jay Z’s line, “Eat the cake Anna Mae”, which references the domestic violence in the relationship between Ike Turner and Tina Turner. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how the couple decide to tackle the issue.

Either way, it could be a great night for Jay Z following the nine Grammy nominations he received this year including Best Rap Album for Magna Carta Holy Grail and Best Music Video nominations for his performance art film, Picasso Baby, as well as Justin Timberlake’s, Suit & Tie.

Rapper LL Cool J will be hosting the ceremony which will also see performances from Paul McCartney with Ringo Starr as well as Metallica with Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Daft Punk, Stevie Wonder, Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons, Keith Urban and John Legend are also set to hit the stage throughout the night.
