Early this morning Dominic Cooper and Sophie Turner at BAFTA's headquarters announced the nominations for Film Awards and now we have a different view of what the cinema industry could be honoring this year as by now have a clear idea of what film critics like, some idea of what American Guilds -with too-many regulations- could honor and as of this moment what British Academy members will honor this year.  Let's recall that some British Academy members are also AMPAS members and these nominations always give a necessary boost to some films and often resemble what Oscar nominations could look.

La La Land leads with eleven (11) nominations followed by Arrival and Nocturnal Animals with nine (9) nominations each, Manchester by the Sea has six (6), and with five (each) Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Hacksaw Ridge, Lion and I, Daniel Blake.  Moonlight and Florence Foster Jenkins have both been nominated four (4) times.

Believe there are high probabilities Casey Affleck and Viola Davis will get an Oscar (well, if they win a BAFTA) but perhaps the most interesting is the boost that Tom Ford's Nocturnal Animals gets after today; film critics have not honor the film but seems the industry has better film evaluation, me, I saw 2 movies in Nocturnal Animals, one I loved, one I hated but can't deny that film captured me, put me inside the screen and allow me to feel all kind of good and bad feelings/emotions -not many films can do it.

These are the nominees.
