Crime-fighting drones
Remote controlled drones are all the rage. In Alaska, drones are used to count sea lions and in the USA they monitor drug trafficking across borders. Now the City of Cape Town wants to get in on the act and use drones for drug busts, search and rescue operations and agricultural mapping. But the Civil Aviation Authority isn’t giving the project lift off. Carte Blanche investigates.
