I would like to point out that on the cover of this issue are two iconic American muscle cars powered by turbocharged four-cylinder engines that achieve 30 mpg (or more) on the highway. We also profile Jaguar’s first SUV and Honda’s second-generation pickup truck, and we gossip about Mercedes-Benz’s possible entry into the light truck category—with help from Nissan.

I know what you’re thinking: “Next you’re going to tell me that the cats shall lie down with dogs, and the flies with spiders. What is going on here?” In a word, progress.

Take a look to the right. In the past few issues, you may have noticed that half of this column has been devoted to the programming schedule for Motor Trend OnDemand, the video platform we have been beta testing since November. By the time you read this, we will have launched version 2.0, which adds a ton of new mobile and over-the-top (OTT) connectivity, including Apple TV, an Apple iOS phone and tablet app, a Google Android phone and tablet app, and Roku.

Welcome to the 21st century of on-demand infotainment. Want to binge watch Jason on “Ignition” or Jonny on “Head 2 Head”? Decompress with “Roadkill” after the latest episode of “Game of Thrones”? Or go four wheelin’ from the comfort of your couch with “Dirt Every Day”? Now you can. You can also watch the very best in racing, from Le Mans recaps and Formula 1 season highlights to live coverage of series including Pirelli World Challenge, DTM, and Lamborghini Blancpain.

Motor Trend is the first and only place you can get all of this original automotive programming and racing action—whenever you want, on almost any device you care to watch it on. It’s been challenging to get to this pole position, but we’re used to breaking ground. “Don’t come to us; we’ll come to you” has been our mantra since the first issue of Motor Trend hit a mailbox. Over the years we added traditional TV and radio shows before jumping online in the late ’90s. We added internet video in the early aughts and now have an award-winning podcast and the largest social media footprint of any automotive media brand.

The Motor Trend experience is everywhere you are, from your phone to your Facebook page and now to whatever device you use to catch up on your favorite shows and events. Want to check it out? Head to motortrendondemand.com. If you’re already a subscriber and have an issue or just want to chat, find me on Twitter at @edloh. Thanks for reading, watching, friending, and following.
