Luxury cars were a big deal at the 2016 New York auto show. There wasn’t a category left un-added-to, from polarizing coupe-like SUVS to intriguing concepts previewing future models and refreshed versions of current luxury vehicles. Here are some of the major luxury debuts at the 2016 New York auto show.

2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC43: The First AMG-Badged Compact Luxury SUV

In its quest to put an AMG badge on everything it sells, Mercedes-AMG revealed the 2017 GLC43, which comes armed with a new nine-speed automatic transmission and a 362-hp, 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 putting its power down to all four wheels. The car also comes with a sport-tuned air suspension to make sure you can carve winding roads with confidence.

2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC43: Sail Mode Saves Fuel

The 2017 GLC43’s nine-speed automatic transmission comes with a Sail mode that helps make it more fuel-efficient. In Eco Mode, the car’s transmission and clutch are sometimes disengaged while engine speed is reduced to idle so that you can maximize efficiency when you’re driving.

Lincoln Navigator Concept: A Glimpse of the Next-Generation Navigator

If there were an award for the most excessive concept car, the Lincoln Navigator Concept would win it hands-down. Defining excessive luxury in more ways than one, the Navigator Concept comes with retractable steps and large gullwing doors for maximum drama and head-turning style befitting a massive luxury SUV.

Lincoln Navigator Concept: 30 Ways to Adjust Your Seat

Like the Continental sedan, the Lincoln Navigator Concept comes with the Perfect Position Seats, giving six passengers – yes, six — 30 ways to get comfortable. Everyone can indulge and get comfortable regardless of where they’re seated.

2017 Acura MDX: Hybridized and De-Beaked

Now sporting Acura’s new corporate grille, the 2017 MDX crossover has been refreshed and updated to keep it class-competitive. Along with the new face is a hybrid variant featuring Acura’s SH-AWD system, a seven-speed twin-clutch transmission, and a 3.0-liter V-6 paired to an electric motor for a total output of 325 hp.

2017 Acura MDX: Sport Hybrid Is Expected to be the Most Fuel Efficient

While EPA fuel economy figures have not yet been released for the 2017 Acura MDX, the hybrid variant is expected to achieve 25/26 mpg city/highway, 7 mpg higher in the city compared to the gas-only MDX. This means that the MDX Sport Hybrid will offer the best of both worlds: more power and better fuel economy in one package. The non-hybrid 2017 MDX is shown in gray below.

2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe: Pint-Sized Attack Armadillo

Need something luxurious but polarizing? The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe has your name on it. Available with a 241-hp turbo-four or a 362-hp twin-turbo V-6, the GLC Coupe is a fun-sized attack armadillo that will coddle you in luxury on long road trips.

2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe: Family Resemblances Abound

Yes, the 2017 GLC Coupe looks like a shrunken GLE Coupe, but it has a distinctive look you won’t mistake for anything else in the Benz lineup. Since it’s considered a coupe despite having four doors, its rear end mimics the C-Class and S-Class Coupe.

Genesis New York Concept: Preview of a 3-Series Challenger

The Genesis New York Concept previews an upcoming new product from Hyundai’s newly formed luxury division and comes with plenty of style and design details. Sized similarly to a compact luxury sedan, the New York Concept also gives us a preview of Genesis’ answer to the venerable BMW 3-Series.

Genesis New York Concept: Hybrid Power

A 2.0-liter direct-injected I-4 mated to an electric motor and an eight-speed automatic transmission powers the Genesis New York Concept. While no other powertrain details were announced, Genesis did reveal that the powertrain makes a total system output of 242 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.

2017 Buick Encore: The Baby Premium SUV Gets a Refresh

The founder of the premium small crossover segment has been refreshed and comes packing a lot of tech including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. To make the 2017 Buick Encore more appealing, the car now comes with more premium features such as full LED headlights and a new 8-inch touchscreen for the IntelliLink infotainment system.

2017 Buick Encore: Power for All

Originally available only in the Sport Touring trim, the 1.4-liter direct-injected turbo-four with 153 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque is now available on higher 2017 Encore trim levels and is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine also comes with an automatic start/stop system to help you save fuel when driving in the city.

2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet: Drop-top Autobahn Cruise Missile for Four

Those looking for an uber-fast drop-top for four can now rejoice, because Mercedes-AMG has a solution in the form of the C63 Cabriolet. With up to 503 hp generated by the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8, the C63 Cabriolet will give you the ability to scare the daylights out of your three passengers should you decide to do so.

2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet: Adjustability Overload

Like every AMG-badged Mercedes-Benz vehicle, there are a multitude of ways to adjust the car’s engine response, suspension, transmission, and steering.

2017 Audi R8 Spyder: Sexy From Every Angle

Audi’s R8 supercar is extremely sexy in its coupe guise but once you take the roof off, it becomes stunningly gorgeous. The second-generation Audi R8 Spyder is equal parts substance and style thanks to a seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox and a wailing 5.2-liter V-10 engine rated at 540 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque.

2017 Audi R8 Spyder: Lighter and More Rigid Than the Car It Replaces

Like the R8 Coupe, the 2017 Audi R8 Spyder makes extensive use of aluminum and carbon fiber in its construction. As a result, Audi says the car’s torsional rigidity is up to 50 percent while weight is down by 458 pounds.

2017 Kia Cadenza: The Old Kia is No More

The 2017 Kia Cadenza is proof that the Korean automaker is now a force. It has an upscale cabin that punches way above expectations and features you’d usually find in cars costing twice as much. Under the hood, you’ll find the same 3.3-liter V-6, but this time it’s paired to a new eight-speed automatic transmission for improved performance and fuel economy.

2017 Kia Cadenza: Available Active Safety and Semi-Autonomous Driving Tech

Kia’s Drive Wise semi-autonomous driving technologies will first appear on the 2017 Cadenza and will use features such as lane keeping assist and an adaptive cruise control system that works in stop-and-go traffic. The latest active safety tech will also be available, including autonomous emergency braking and forward collision warning.

2017 Mercedes-AMG E43: V-8 Power With Two Less Cylinders

If the base 2017 E-Class doesn’t have enough power, your solution has arrived in the Mercedes-AMG E43, which puts power down to all four wheels. The 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V-6 now makes 396 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque and comes paired with a new nine-speed automatic transmission.

2017 Mercedes-AMG E43: Multiple Cars in One

If you’re the type of driver who wants to have it all, the Mercedes-AMG E43 will give you plenty of ways to tailor its driving character to your liking. From an adjustable air suspension to multiple modes for the engine, transmission, and steering, the E43 brings the freedom of choice.
