Engineering Director/ Utility Vehicle Platforms OEM (to $130,000 + Bonus)

Compensation: To $130,000 base plus incentives ($150,000+ Target)
Position Summary:
My Client, a leader in off road vehicle manufacturing is looking for an energized Engineering Director to manage all technical design aspects for all Utility Vehicle Platforms within their brand. This role will report the Vice President of Product Development. This position is located in the Eastern US and will require relocation (relocation assistance provided). To qualify you must have recent engineering / manufacturing experience (director or management level preferred) with ATV, UTV or Motorcycle. No other applicants will be considered.
This role will:
Provide management and design leadership for a team of UTV Engineers. The Engineering Director of UTV platforms will manage multiple design/platform teams. Engineering Managers and Team Leaders will report to this Engineering Director.
Review and provide innovative technical guidance on all Utility Vehicle platforms
Coordinate designs with product marketing, customer service, production, supply chain, accounting and other engineers and departments related to this product line
Provide support and leadership to all production activities at the production manufacturing location
Keep current with technical advancements and worldwide regulations / standards
This position has 10 direct reports
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology (Master’s degree would be a plus)
Leadership experience and success in managing multiple vehicle/platform design teams
Knowledge (5-10 years of experience) of vehicle/platform design principles particularly related to Utility Vehicle Platforms
Experience working with manufacturing to implement sound designs that meet cost and ease of assemble targets
Excellent communication skills and proven experience interacting with product marketing, customer service, production and supply chain groups
A disciplined and motivational personality. Also self-motivated, results oriented, and capable of a sustained and continuous effort
Willingness to travel to meet project objectives. Travel approximately 10% of the time with approximately two international trips per year
The most important attribute is the ability to work effectively within our fast paced product design team.
