Vice President of Sales & Marketing (to $175,000 base plus incentives)

Location: North Central USA

Compensation: To $175,000 Base plus incentives ($200k + target)

My client, a leading Powersports aftermarket manufacturer seeks a Vice President of Sales and Marketing. This position is located in the North Central USA and will require relocation. To qualify, you MUST have a current Motorcycle license and be passionate about motorcycles.

Position Overview:

The Vice President is directly responsible for leading and directing the sales and marketingteams to meet or exceed sales revenue, sales profitability and budgetary objectives. The role involves strategic planning, managing people, selling, leveraging technology and improving processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy and Measurement:

Creates and executes the sales department go-to-market and operational strategies both domestic and international to achieve business objectives.

Partners with Executive Management team in developing strategy for the entire company to achieve annual operating income goals.

Determines and monitors the department’s key performance indicators such as revenue vs. plan, contact rate, quote closure rate and gross profit percentage.

Anticipates and reacts quickly to trends and changes in performance and markets.

Develops and manages Sales Department budgets.

Provides detailed and accurate sales forecasting.

Leadership:

Develops, promotes, and supports a customer focused team oriented culture throughout the Sales Department.

Directs, manages and mentors the Sales Department managers and staff.

Develops and implements employee performance management programs and sales incentive programs.

Participates in corporate succession planning activities, writes and delivers and/or assists in employee reviews, keeps close tabs on employee morale and creates a positive working environment.

Analyzes and continually challenges the Sales organizational structure for maximum effectiveness: Areas, Regions and Individual role.

Drives accountability through the sales organization.

Selling:

Assists with complex sales negotiations, attends sales presentations, and helps close sales deals.

Directly manages very large, high-profile customer accounts, as appropriate.

Develops sales proposals and responses to requests for proposals.

Develops and oversees a sales training program for new and existing employees. Ensures sales employees are equipped with the product, system and selling-skills training that they require to be successful.

Partners with marketing to develop lead generation and revenue generation programs, and to create high performing sales collateral.

Technology and Continuous Improvement:

Continually improves the effectiveness of the sales organization and enhances productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Oversees and drives adoption of sales technology including customer relationship management (CRM) and a sales intranet.

Partners with information technology leaders to identify and implement new technology and improve existing technology based on business and customer needs.

Develops documents and enforces sales policies, standard operating procedures and best practices and streamlines sales processes.

Requirements:

Seven to ten (10) years of experience in a sales and marketing leadership role, at least four years of experience in a selling role and at least two years of experience in a senior leadership role.

Bachelor’s degree with a business concentration is required; MBA is preferred.

Demonstrate outstanding leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Possess expertise in selling strategies and methodologies, strategic planning and execution and employee motivation techniques.

Possess good analytical and networking skills.

Intermediate to advance PC skills including Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Valid U.S. Passport or the ability to obtain.

Valid driver’s license with motorcycle license/endorsement.
