Rommel Harley-Davidson, the area’s premiere motorcycle dealership network, is currently seeking an experienced General Manager (GM) to join our dynamic leadership team. The GM is responsible for overall operations and profitability of the Harley-Davidson dealership. This is a leadership position and requires ethical results driven accountability across a wide range of responsibilities; leads a team of professionals and acts as a liaison for customers, the community and the Motor Company.

We are a multi-location dealership network spanning the North East region from Pennsylvania to the Carolina area and looking for motivated individuals to join our leadership team. Responsible for both short and long term financial viability of the dealership.

Meet or exceed clearly defined profitability goals.

Set dealership goals and hold the team accountable.

Balance the expectations of employees, customers, owners, and community.

Provide strong and ethical leadership in all aspects of the dealership operations.

Comply with overall corporate policy objectives and implement best practices at the dealership level.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Management

Develop and implement operating policies and procedures for entire dealership consistent with Rommel H-D initiatives.

Manage and improve revenues, gross margins and dealership profitability.

Ensure timely and accurate financial data is developed and distributed appropriately.

Approve all major dealership expenditures.

Assist in development of monthly and annual objectives for the dealership in cooperation with company president.

Ensure departments meet or exceed budgeted revenue, margin and expense objectives.

Analyze and determine the nature and size of the market for motorcycles, other merchandise, and service.

Develop long-range plans, objectives, and budgets designed to achieve an increasing market share.

Maintain records as needed to evaluate dealership performance.

Attend training sessions to keep current with all issues of dealership operations.

GM will be responsible for dealing with company initiatives and programs.

GM will be in direct contact with Motor Company.

GM will be required to travel to HD-U, Dealer Shows, Town Hall Meetings, etc. as needed.

Customer Service

Treat customers in a courteous and friendly and professional manner.

Oversee and lead all Rommel customer service initiatives including internal and external best practices.

Handle customer complaints reasonably, showing empathy and a positive attitude, and demonstrate our commitment to excellent customer experience.

Assist managers and supervisors when needed.

Ensure that all customers receive the highest quality of services through comprehensive hiring, training and review practices.

Responsible to manage and maintain CXI (Customer Service Indicators) reporting for dealer network at or above HDMC National levels. Goal is top 10% for all measures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Recommend appropriate compensation levels for all employees of the dealership.

Train managers and supervisors to lead their people.

Develop policies and procedures for dealership operations.

Evaluate, coach and counsel direct reports.

Manage recruiting, interviewing and hiring employees, and address other human resources issues as needed.

Review all performance reviews to ensure consistency across departments.

Provide training for all managers and supervisors (seminars, workshops, sales, schools, etc.)

Delegate responsibility to managers and supervisors in the best interest of the dealership.

Manage conflicts between individuals and departments of the dealership.

Education, Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Five years progressive executive management experience.

Ability to provide clear and consistent leadership.

Ability to understand and manage financial statements and balance sheets.

Strong computer skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to hire, manage, and retain quality people.

Demonstrated the ability to manage all financial and operational aspects of a $10 million dollar business.

Knowledge and experience with sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and other products sold by the dealership.
